IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DOD ANNOUNCES NAMES OF SERVICEMEMBERS KILLED IN HELICOPTER ACCIDENT The Department of Defense announced today the names of two servicemembers killed in Friday's helicopter crash in Pakistan. Killed were Spc. Jonn J. Edmunds, 20, of Cheyenne, Wyo. and Pfc. Kristofor T. Stonesifer, 28, of Missoula, Mont.
The two Army Rangers were passengers in a Blackhawk helicopter that crashed while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. Hostile fire has been ruled out as a cause of the crash, which remains under investigation.
Gen. Richard B. Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, offered his condolences to the families of those killed.
"They and all who are participating in Operation Enduring Freedom are heroes. They put their lives on the line on behalf of freedom and on behalf of America, and they do it each and every day. I'm so very proud of them and their comrades in arms," he said.
"As the president has said," added Myers, "they did not die in vain."

I hate this PC crap. John and Kris were servicemen, not freeking servicemembers. Are we such a bunch of pussies in this country that we cant speak plainly. Do we always have to worry about someone taking offense when we speak the truth.

To Jonn and Kristofor. May God rest and bless your souls. You will not be forgotten and you will not die in vain. My family will be vigiliant in this fight so freedom will live on forever, and in your honor.

Thank you, John and Kristofor, for defending our freedom.

I like the current terminology they are using in the Services - they are called "Warfighters". Don't have to differentiate between Sailor, Soldier, or Marine that way.

Please, they are heroes of our nation.
Be wary of the use of the word homeland-- it infers an entirely different meaning than you think.

Soldiers it is. But lets abolish these newly concocted words that smack of bowing to the PC language enforcers.

If they are being carried/ferried to an "activity" they are called passengers.

Soldiers it is.
Soldiers are only Army guys - Marines will get insulted. Call 'em all Warfighters.
