Hillary Booed at McCartney's Twin Towers Relief Concert

New York Senator Hillary Clinton was roundly booed at former Beatle Paul McCartney's Twin Towers relief concert, held at Manhattan's Madison Square Garden Saturday night.

The embarrassing moment came as Sen. Clinton introduced a short video clip from stand-up comic Jerry Seinfeld.

Though the former first lady has tried to capitalize on the Twin Towers tragedy, thrusting herself before one TV camera after another in an effort to connect with average New Yorkers and advance her 2004 presidential ambitions, McCartney's concert showed the effort still needed more work.

One eyewitness to the scene reported to the website FreeRepublic.com that Clinton "was booed so loudly, she had to yell into the mike to be heard."

Another estimated that "90 percent" of the crowd jeered the former first lady.

Her husband, the former president, who was also present, got a much warmer reception.

I also missed it and can't wait to see it for myself. Apparently it will be replayed on VH1 today at 2:00 p.m. EST. On another thread it was mentioned she appears 3-1/2 into the concert.

I was thinking the same thing. I must have heard Bill's remarks on the radio at the top of the hour at least three times yesterday. On the third go round, amidst some cheering, I heard booing and a barely audible "___k you! Get off the stage!" by one concert goer. This was about the time he uttered his "make a joyful noise" sentiments.

I'll never forget: The night before the OKC bombing, Bill Clinton held a rare prime-time news conference. He looked like a whipped pup and he kept telling reporters that he was "relevant". This was just a few months after the Republicans took over the Congress. I thought it was strange the way he conducted himself that night and wondered why he was having a news conference that night of April 18, 1995 when there wasn't any real news going on at the time.

Of course, the next day, OKC bombing happened, and he proclaims that moment as his "Comeback", as did the news media. Add to that fact that many BATF workers didn't show up for work that day. You do the math.
