What's happening to the 600+ detained? Where are they being kept? What's being done with/to them?

In a recent Newsmax column, John Leboutillier wonders what's happening with the hundreds of "material witnesses" detained by the fed. gov't in its post-Sep 11 investigations. Are they being held in isolation and, one way or another, being forced to cough up what they know? Has anyone heard any indications?

On Fox last night it was made clear that there are only a few material witnesses being held. Most are visa infractions, some big some small, but that is the reason most are being held. Only a few have been shown to be connected in any way to 9/11 or terorist cells.
