Wow. Is this the same bunch of guys were were in the airport bar while the TV coverage had started? I read this on FR in the first couple of days. An off duty copy noticed two M-E men deep in conversation, NOT glued to the images on the TV. When he approached them, they bolted. Someone else saw two M-E men running out of the terminal building, apparently picked up by a car/taxi? I remember reading this, but don't know if it was confirmed, but I remember that being connected by some M-E men causing a scene at a cancelled flight, and then running off before the airport police arrived. Any confirmation, JH?

Bolted from the plane? Maybe they had to use the bathroom, or time for morning prayers? Whoever made the call to ground all airliners should be given a medal. That call saved thousands of lives and maybe some national monuments.

Four grounded aircraft were known to have three, four and five Arab men listed, each seated in first class, all bearing one-way tickets. On two of the grounded flights, three of the tickets were purchased with a credit card used by some of the nineteen hijackers.

Were there other planned hijackings on 9/11? DUH.

An Air Canada spokesman described them as "X-acto-type knives," saying that they had small, retractable blades.

They are probably talking about this model, x-acto's "little orange knife"....(with a very sharp blade)

I read or heard somewhere that about ten of the 19 tickets were bought with one credit card, and that there were 4 other tickets bought as well on a plane which was grounded. This should be easy to check if true.

If true, the FBI is for sure holding back a lot of info.

There could have been six to 20 other possible planes to be hi-jacked. It could have been much worse! We may eventually know the number if we can get one of the suspects in custody to sing.

FWIW, I followed the 9/11 events on FR as I was at work. I distinctly recall a FReeper posting that he heard David Hackworth on radio claim that eleven planes were hijacked.

I'm putting it here for point of reference. The FReeper had no reason to make it up. I'm wondering what Hackworth's immediate sources were, because this was reported around 10:00 am on FR.
