I love how many times we can revisit this topic. Let me weigh in with a simple fact - no matter how many times the votes are recounted no one can claim to have a 'real' true count.
Besides the fact that the 'what constitutes a valid vote cast' critera is not a constant applicable standard; it is a variable the following rule must be remembered:
As long as the difference between the two candidates is less than the statistical margin of error, no conclusive 'accurate' difference can be determined.
This much, however,is measureable: George W. Bush Is the President. Period.
Bottom line is that the Florida election result was challenged. A recount was done according to law. Bush won the reount. Case closed. Plus every time you do a recount after that the results start changing due to falling (or dangling) chads. Plus, as we have see, when you do a hand recout, the results become incredibly subjective. I am still chuckling over the photo of one of the hand recounters holding a ballot up and staring at it with bulging eyes as if to telepathically divine the intent of the voter.
Oh, and Jeffy Toobin had incredibly BAD TIMING for the release of his flop of a book.
