Under the cirumstances, we must be wary of young Arab men.
It was Sept. 14 at 9 p.m., and I was on Fifth Avenue, directly across the street from St. Patrick's Cathedral. I was standing, that is, directly in front of the statue of Atlas holding up the world, at the entrance of Rockefeller Center. I was with my 14-year-old son. We were waiting for friends who were going to accompany us downtown to see the memorials that had sprung up in Washington Square and other places.

I like the hair toss!
And there's your scary thought for the night.

That about says it.
Woman is the best there is. Almost better than me.
Dang right. I think she's right on the money about those sleeper cells and I consider her assessment to be 100% correct. I'm very surprised she was not edited to extinction.
You know what's funny? I made a post on another thread about avoiding the Interstates today. I got questioned about it and further explained that those terrorists were being sentenced today in NY, that hazmat trucks have been reported stolen at various and yon, that in caution I thought if at all possible to avoid roads carrying large trucks.
I got really flamed for this and accused of accessoring with tin foil hats.
Hey, I'm taking a whole new tact on this thing and tin foil looks fetching on me anyways.
Because terrorism is how they're fighting this war with us and I know I'm a soldier without a lick of training. My way of fighting back is to keep track and make informed, cautious, but not ridiculous decisions.
No large hazmat trucks blew up on any highways today so I'm glad I was wrong. By my assessment, this is going to be the means of the next attack. I say that because as a newborn soldier, I'm developing my Intelligence skills. We've all read about those Arab guys getting hazmat transport licensing when they couldn't even speak English. Then there's the unusual stolen trucks.
I've listened to the prevaricating congress critters enough. I've seen them appear on my TV and tell me to go on as normal, that it's the American way, that it's my duty as a patriot. Then they all tuck in tails and run and hide at a whisper of danger. Boom, they're all off my list.
I'm going to drive the Interstates just like I still went into Baltimore the day they were announcing all over the radio about a planned attack so specific they named the time: 1:15pm. I was right smack dab in the middle of Baltimore at 1:30 pm only to come home and discover all the House of Reps. went home. I considered that crazy threat on Baltimore and know that I'm no fool that would ignore what I should wisely consider danger. But my newfound Intelligence skills advised me that a terrorist would likely go after DC as Baltimore, DC being right down the road and all. What the heck is in Baltimore?
I think this war is on us citizens every bit as much as it is on the government and I sure do wish Ridge or some other Homeland Security guru would be a bit more candid about what we're up against.
Which, as I've went on and on, is why this column is so good. I adore Peggy, of course. And you know what?
I now trust her more than I do my congress critters.
Ronald Reagan's "Shining City" comes to mind.
They, the profiled ones , destroyed it.
It is time for every one, especially New Yorkers, to be vigilant of suspicious behaviour by the profiled ones.
Question any one on the streets of New York carrying packages gingerly , stall them until authorities come to help and take over..
Looks like Peggy's son is at least a visitor to FR.
Excellent idea. We should all do this.
Great advice. Might work to make small talk with them and introduce yourself (use a phony name) to try to get their names.
Are they likely casing these places for a truck bomb or some other kind of attack? Here is a thread about the missing 25 to 35 Arabs with big rig driving skills and possibly potential hijackers of trucks.
Peggy, thank you.
