au contraire, mon frere.....The Church INTERPRETS Christianity. God is the one who defined it, in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the written Word of the whole Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. Jesus Christ is the central figure in the Bible, the seed of the woman who would bruise Satan's heel in Genesis to the Alpha and Omega in Revelation.
The Church only interprets what they believe the Word says, and as you can see, there is some disagreement on that. God is the final authority, and ultimately any believer who wants to truly live the Christian lifestyle must go directly to God with an open mind and heart to be taught of Him. That's why He gave us the Holy Spirit, to lead us into all truth. If some are not in agreement as to what the truth is, it's not the Holy Spirit's fault, it's the fault of those seeking the truth, not being able to hear or handle the truth, for reasons ranging from unwillingness to let go of tradition to selfishness and unconfessed sin.
You would only be a pinhead if you knew the truth and refused to act on it or embrace it. That would definitely be a pin-headed attitude....:o)
He is President of the Muslims too, you know. It's preposterous that you are afraid, and not convinced of his Christianity because he called Islam a 'great religion.'
Think about that for a minute. Did he define 'great' as meaning 'true'?? No. There are billions of people who believe in the Islamic faith. That's a 'great' religion, isn't it?
If you doubt President Bush's faith....look closer. Your fears are totally unfounded. God is working in this man as He has not worked in any President in my lifetime. Pray for him.
It did, Republic. The work of God was so in evidence in that service that I was amazed. But, you know, he's been 'preaching' in every speech he's given since 9/11. Did you hear his talk to the children at the Red Cross? The truth of God was so clear in his words!
George W. Bush has yielded his life to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and has openly asked for prayer for himself for clarity and wisdom in this war against terrorism, and his (and our) prayers are being answered. Those who don't see that are willingly blind (and I'm guessing that politics are more involved in their 'doubts' than faith).
Thanks for the ping!
Who are you Alerting? Your fellow God haters? Not many around these parts.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come."
2 Corinthians 5:17
George W. Bush's conversion happened well after his college years. All your information about Skull & Bones is completely irrelevant, as would be information about his drinking or his DUI, if you would chose that to use against him.
Nice try, but dredging up his well known past won't work to discredit his present faith, which is obvious in the life he is living now.
What's so great is that the liberals here ALL thank God that W is President, and not that tree-hugging, "Kumbaya" feeling, lock-box liar, and inventor of the internet.
Every cloud has a silver lining. Maybe now national defense will be the priority that many of us have advocated for years.
Indeed. I agree with ya 100%. President Bush is moving in an elevated realm. In my mind, there is no doubt.
