We went out about 2am and saw a couple of really bright ones! One was even orange with a very short, but very wide tail. Sir SuziQ said it must have come straight in and burned out more quickly and brightly than one that skips on the top of the atmosphere.

I only saw a couple, before I got too sleepy this year( I forgot to take an early nap.) But Marshall Space Flight Center reported 18 per hour at 3:17 EDT.
