Bush Cautions N. Korea on Threats
WASHINGTON- AP - - President Bush warned North Korea not to try to take advantage of America's battle against terrorism by moving against U.S. ally South Korea.
"North Korea should not in any way, shape or form think that because we happened to be engaged in Afghanistan we will not be prepared and ready to fulfill our end of our agreement with the South Korean government," Bush said in an interview with Asian editors.
"They should not use this as an opportunity to threaten our close friend and ally, South Korea," the president said. "Not only will we have troops there and have them there, we will be prepared to defend and stand side-by-side with our longtime friend, the South Korean people."
Bush said the North Korean leaders should keep their agreement to open talks with the South Korean government.
"I must tell you that I've been disappointed in (North Korean leader) Kim Jong Il not rising to the occasion, being so suspicious, so secretive."
Bush also described himself as heartbroken over the starving children in North Korea. "Children are children, regardless of who their leaders are. And I'm sad about that."
Bush made his remarks in an interview Tuesday with Asian editors. A transcript was released Wednesday. --

The nuclear mines will slow him down some.
But the tunnels NK has dug under the DMZ
may be tempting. Having cadres come
up for air from downtown gratings could be
Seoul-wrenching.
The North Koreans might take Seoul, but there would be nothing but radioactive rubble behind them, all the way to the Chinese border.

I've seen some of the underground tunnels at the DMZ. Supposedly they have all been detected and intercepted right at the DMZ. Seoul is also a long ways from the DMZ, even if some were undetected, I doubt they go that far. Also, they are barely wide and tall enough to get to small NK soldiers side by side. Might could do covert operations using such, if you dug through undetected, but foolish to think you could get an invasion force snuck in. Some NK military engineer's wild haired scheme if you ask me.
Makes an interesting tourist trap though.
Either we respond in kind or we are exposed as a paper tiger.
I noticed the muslims aren't sending any anthrax to Moscow or Peking.
Wonder why?
Yes. But looked at in the light of
today's terrorist activities, and how
one Korean looks like the other,
undiscovered tunnels could be key.
Bingo.
Nor have the sent any to CNN in Atlanta.....Bin Laden is saving CNN for his propaganda disbursement....

The minute they move southward in a blizkrieg, Pyongyang will receive a cruise missile ass whooping the likes no one has ever seen. Their military elite know this. That does not stop them from being suicidal and crazy; they are a nation-state-cult, you know. I would not be surprised to see early and unconconditional use of tac nukes, maybe even one snaking up the Pottongang River right up an orifice of Kim Jong-il (who by the way is already established as having been a mass murder himself: Rangoon bombing, KAL bombing, kidnaps and rapes, purges)....
I thought the Bush warning to North Korea was kind of cool. Also, our intelligence must show some signs in DPRK or I dont think Bush would have issued such an unveiled threat at this time. Time to watch the Peninsula.
Wanna attack our allies, N. Korea? Bring it.
Laurie D.is cute though.....
