Kinda makes ya wonder what TV show was on when Tom the sculptor and Jim the anthropologist created this clay beauty.
I'm sure it's just a co-inky-dink. Also makes you wonder how many of these anthropological clay models have been victimized by TV viewing. I think I saw one that resembled Fred Flintstone once....

I know that there was an episode that had some sort of time warp thingy in it. Maybe Picard bit the big one here on earth 9300 years ago?

I bet that's the plot of the next movie.

Ha! I've seen both, but never made the connection. Glad to see you did.

Or like the French actually discovered America?

The Kennewick man was probably genetically related to the Ainu. The Ainu language shares some structure and vocabulary with the Basque and have a European appearance. Archeological evidence of the Ainu in Japan goes back at least 7,000 years. The Kennewick skeleton is about 9,000 years old. This is less than 1,000 years after the land bridge to Asia disappeared. A good short summary can be found at http://www.islandnet.com/~edonon/ainu.htm

they would have if they hadn't given up so soon.

It must be depressing for bald guys to watch "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and realize that even hundreds of years from now, mankind still hasn't found a cure for baldness.

I always thought he looked like that sculpture.

Unable to beam over before now due to interference from lead-laden surroundings (eyelids -- still sick!). *G* That pic is TOOOOO weird!! Actually, the forensic artists who recreate faces from skulls follow the contours of the skull, along with info they've deducted from the remains as to age, etc. I'd guess that the recreation is a fairly accurate one! (I am an absolute fountain of useless knowledge.)
At one point, several friends were trying to push me onto Jeopardy. I convinced them not to push, as I'd end up in jail if I went. (I cannot stand Alex Trebec, and would probably not make it off the set without strangling the twerp!) *G*
Thanks for the Red Alert! ;-}

Yeah, if you can boogey with bald-wrinkly-alien-reptilian-things as long as they have big bazookas, then it shouldn't be too hard of a step to boogey with ape-cavewomen...

AFVetGal -- you, too, (and all I've pinged!) can have one of the same sources of useless info that I own and love! *G* Click on
An Incomplete Education to view it on Amazon.com
MUCH MORE IMPORTANTLY -- Barbara's book is now at #6 on Amazon's chart! Please ping anyone you think may not have yet ordered a copy but would be interested?! The time is ripe to take it to #1!! The link is right here for Barbara's book!
While you're there, an additional book to look at for the Christmas season is Once Upon a Christmas. It's a really nice hardcover coffee table book (one of my stories is in it -- shameless plug), but there's no photo on Amazon. (I receive no monetary gains by promoting this book; I've already been paid for my contribution.)
A photo of the book and sample pages can be viewed at this link!
Most importantly, though, please help me bump Barbara's book all the way to the top and through the roof -- and all the way to the heavens?!
