The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.
Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |

Cheating? No. Elegant? Yes.
Come Lord Jesus!

I liked yours, but I can do it in 6 words: Isn't this just screaming out for haiku?
Give me a minute.

yeah that one about incorporeal was too ambiguous. There was also one of the "check all that apply" questions that I didn't even check one.
Choose ALL statements below that represent your beliefs.
1) Adhere strictly to the rites, practices, precepts, commandments, prohibitions, laws, sacraments, or ordinances of the faith to be rewarded after life.
2) All, even the wicked, are rewarded after life (e.g., go to heaven, merge with God) as God(s) is infinitely good and forgiving.
3) Extinguish all cravings, attachments, and ignorance, or rid oneself of all impurities, to become fully enlightened.
4) Learn all life's lessons through rebirths.
5) Realize your true nature as purely spirit (or soul) and not body, as one with the Absolute, Universal Soul.
6) Live very simply; renounce worldly goals and possessions.
7) Tap the power of the Ultimate (God, or the divine) through intercessory methods such as psychics, channeling, tarot cards, crystals, magic.
8) Humankind is "saved" through human effort rather than through religious or spiritual means.
How about a "none of the above" selection.

I started to take it and the first question led me to the conclusion that it was a survey designed to usher in the new one world government, one world religion concept of those that would be gods. Its gonna show how just about everybody believes just about the same thing.

"testing the waters"??? Heck, I'll push him in, if it means we get a new kicker.
Maybe the Pats will trade Adam Vinatieri straight up for him. Vinatieri is a short kicking bum anyway. ;)

Not to have a Clinton trial. Would've convicted the clown, too! Saw that the report was made public today and that there was plenty of evidence for a conviction.

How about a "none of the above" selection. I know, there was too much wiggle room. I did the test a few times, trying to get the answers as close as possible and kept getting far different results. I finally quit when it identified me as 100% Hindu.

I'm not familiar with "neo-Paganism"... got any websites for that one? How is it different from the old paganism?
I didn't have any idea I was a neo-Paganist until I took your "rigged" test. Now you went and gave SoothingDave one more opportunity to pick on this poor, confused, old man.

Why? Is there some core vulnerability that they are targeting? Are they merely hoping in strength of numbers? I would say no.
First. I would disagree with the notion that "the homosexual and leftist community feels quite at home in the RCC". Read some more of their websites and you will find that Catholics and Fundamentalists are their biggest enemies (I'm sure Orthodox would be up there too if there were more of them here).
As to why there is an attraction for some of them... I think it's explained by the debate of a few days ago. Catholic strongly believe that you hate the sin and love the sinner. You've heard: "God loves you just the way you are, but He loves you too much to let you stay that way."
Perhaps they are attracted by people who draw you in to a relationship (bad word, I know) with God without saying that you are somehow "more sinfull" than I am (sin being sin). I hope that there are more sinners who are attracted to Christianity by this mistaken notion that they are "ok" to stay exactly as they are.

There's a story in today's paper about Steeler kicker Kris Brown and how he's "testing the waters" of free agency. The Texans are reportedly looking at him. Being a local Texas boy, he'll take that, if it's true.

You're darn tootin' it is. The language seems prety clear to me that the Pope is settling a matter of faith and morals for the entire Church and that he is making it binding on all. Those who say otherwise are delusional.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm. There must be many delusional theologians.

What forged gospels? I know of about 8 gospels that are not considered part of the bible (I like one of the infancy gospels that has jesus killing his teach for trying to teach him the Alpha Beta Gammas (ABCs). Every childs fantasy) but do not know of any forged.
