The Neverending Story (The New Christian Chronicles)
Southern Baptists ending talks with Catholic Church ^ | 3/24/01 | AP

The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.

Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams

You got a one day time out. Oh my.

Actually what I meant was has any of the regulars had that happen because of something they said on The Neverending Story. We (me included:) do get a bit hatful sometimes, had the abuse button ever been hit in all these 20,000 plus posts.

Havoc had the whistle blown on him once by some thin skinned RC.

"I don't quite know where you are going with this. "

Hey, I'm just thrilled that Becky did; that's who I posted it to.

But thank you for your encouraging and helpful post.

Yes you are!

No need to argue the text speaks for itself. Its all in the context.

Where in the world do you get, or invent, the idea I think the "List of Popes" is claimed to be infallible?

You keep making a big deal about it, as if the lack of historical certainty somehow undermines the entire Catholic belief system. It's simply not important, and I wonder why you think it is so.

I will tell you something funny. I was in tears when I posted that about Charlie to you. I couldn't believe I had given the impression to anyone that Charlie wasn't a wonderful person. I'm getting a lump in my throat now, it's an old women thing:). Anyway it wasn't till I read angelo's post and he flaged it to Steven, that I figured out what you meant.

Actually just the opposite. Becky helped the Catholic arguement with her use of "till." She in no way intended to say that Charlie is now uglier than you know what ... only that up to this day he was/is beautiful. See my point?

But thing about my "till" there was nothing after the "today". Tomorrow he will be beautiful "till" that today, so on and so forth. In the case of Matt. 1:25 something comes after the till, "she had brought him forth etc."

big difference in context.

Becky worked for me a couple of times and lovely times they were, cussing, bitting, kicking, and screaming, and you should of seen what she was doing. :)

LOL! I know that sometimes I get very HATFUL because it gets full of my big ol' head! 8^)

Seriously, though, I think that God must do good work here at times or else the devil wouldn't be so interested in stirring up animosity too.

She doesn't like the computer. I'm kinda glad she doesn't freep tho. :-) I have to be accountable for what I say. I'd hate to have the extra burden of watching what I type.

You said "beautiful till today." Matt 1:25 says "no sex till she brought forth"

You didn't necessarily mean that after today your son is not beautiful. In fact you didn't mean that at all.

Matt 1:25 doesn't necessariily mean that after "she had brought forth" that she had sex. It is the exact same sentence construction. "Till" does not always mean that something has to change afterward. You have proven this.

You can argue that "till" does mean something changes in Matt 1:25, but you can not say it necessarily mean that.

Yeah, how come, I need help! I'm getting a bit gun shy today. Go back thru the posts on this page and see how many times my name has come up, and they aren't talking to me but about me. I've noticed this happens alot. Mack says it's a man thing, because I'm about the only woman on here. Men stick together type thing. Tell your wife to come help:)

Next time some Catholic tries to rewrite history and the Greek language I'll be the first in line to give 'em a talking to.

Let's not forget the passive participle kecharitomene. Next time someone brings that up, I shall be waiting for your swift rebuke. ;-)
