Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |
If only this board would say the same thing. We all appear quite certain that the other side needs Jesus.
Thank you for your posts. You have already made a valuable contribution.
Watch out Mitch. I got the same warm welcome.
If they are Christians?
BTW I've been gone for awhile, can any one tell what good old Havoc said 1402?
No bud you don't see the difference, all the catholics on this thread can do is attack and whine like little babies when they get ground into the dirt by Bible believing Christians, on your best day you guys still don't have a clue about what being saved means, you can't because you chech your brain at the door of your leaders back at the catholic church and add ump teen layers between your selfs and the saving grace of Jesus Christ. All any Bible Believing believer on here is trying to do is to get you to wake up before its too late. If your right then we all have nothing to loose but if your wrong which you are, then you have everything to loose. Not a one of you catholics can say if I die tonight I will go to heaven, we can! The best you can hope for is a short stay in purgatory, I know when you guys lay down at night and are alone you have fear for yourselfs and your family because your not sure! Good God, take a good open minded look at the Bible and forget what you have been taught, you might just find your wrong all on your own.
I whole-heartedly agree, we all need Jesus, even Mary. Of course there are some on this board that I have been reading posts of for months and not seen the word "Jesus" mentioned. Guess which side of the river they are on.
That, you think to your detriment. I don't hate anything because a "label" does it. I do hate sin. I do hate false teaching. I do hate things which offend the Lord. All with a passion. I do not hate those who do those things. If I did, I'd keep my mouth shut and let them rot in eternal fire. There is no greater lover for one's brother than that one should lay down their life for them.. I'd say one up that, there is no greater love for another than one who shares Christ with their brother. Giving one's life will save the physical. Giving one Jesus will save the soul. The opposite also is true, there is no greater hatred than to see a brother in sin and let him die in it. That death is an eternal damnation in hell. If I truly hated anyone, I'd never try to correct them and just let them rot. Not correcting another who is in the wrong, to me, is equal to murder. Therefore I'll do whatever I can to make someone see the wrong in a false teaching. And I refuse to defend wrong in anyone, though I'll defend their right to be wrong. If someone will not hear correction, their blood is on their own hands - not mine.
Really? Who, which one of us?
I look forward to discussing freedom with you.
God bless
I'll let each person examine themselves.
You don't want to know. Trust me. I think the others will agree. Just think "Havoc screwed up good" good intentions or no. I should get a prize for that one. Tho. I screwed up and the one seemingly most offended wants the right to use the argument.. LOL. I'm not sure if that's flattery or not but it's a little funny.
LoL good dodge! But seriously, you shouldn't make accusations that we Catholics don't think about Jesus as much as you Proddies do. It's not true for one (and you should know it) and second it's kinda childish.
One response:
I understand sacrelidge pretty much amounts to blasphemy
The two are often seen as synonyms, but they are not quite the same thing. It would be Blasphemous to say that Christ fathered 24 children by 8 women (forgive the example). It is sacrilege to speak in an irreverant way about the Lord. I do not now claim that that was your intention.
BTW - what's your job?
Oh... and I certainly would use the cat story. I can see myself relying on some Church authority for a belief that I cannot explain fully myself...then I can see you questioning that authority...and I can then compare the Magisterium favoribly to your devining the Lords will through your cat droppings.... You could probably come back you'll stick with the cat over the Magisterium and I will be chagrined. If you take a long time to respond to a particularly good point I can ask if your cat is constipated? Yes, I think I can get a lot of mileage out of this one :-)
Been there, done that. It is one of the reasons why I embraced the Apostolic Faith and became a Catholic five years ago.
Meanwhile, PNAMBC is scratching his/her head muttering, "How can people find Catholicism through studying the Bible?"
I'm so sorry for you and your family.

Right? No - Responsibility. Can you see through that hatred that you project on everyone else as though we're all out to get you. The vast anti-catholic conspiracy. Think for yourself for a moment. We all *have* to hate you right. We're just picking on you because we have nothing better to do with our time than devote it all to you - a faceless person we've never met.. Me in particular - I must really hate you in order to spend, what, 5-6 months of my life in these threads talking to you trying to get you into heaven.. Yeah - just gotta be hatred. Nobody that cared about you would want you in heaven, right.... Tell ya what, the Lord's work aside, I can think of a lot better things to have done with the last six months of my life - but if you end up in heaven because of something I say, I'd spend the rest of my life right here to see it happen..
