LET'S ROLL OUR AGENDA
At this moment it seems that we ,the conservative right have an excellent political opportunity. The Bush administration is currently riding high in the public opinion polls. Even if every plan and maneuver succeeds during this War on Terrorism, we can safely bet that, sure as Idleness is the Devil's Workshop, the Democrats will rise up once again,like serpents of the dust to strike at our heels.
Therefore it is incumbent upon every citizen to come forward and strike first.The Democrats in the House and Senate will appeare loyal for only alittle while longer.They are of course politicians and have egos that need fullfilling.
Now is the time to fire up your pens and paper and keyboards. Write your views down. Send them to our elected representatives. DO IT NOW! PUT A STAMP ON THEM AND MAIL THEM! DO NOT E-MAIL THEM! E-mail is quickly discarded by secreteries and lackies.They will count numbers for the sake of opinion polls and not regard your words.
Be encouraging , give solutions to the problems you see and ask questions that require a reply. This shows that you are paying attention. This shows that you are thinking, and a Thinking Voter is one to whom our employees must Listen.
The Democrats have always played fast and easy with the truth. A recent example were the Census results of 2000. As we all remember they were content to guesstimate the results,which they had calculated would be in their favor. They passed Motor Voter laws to their own benifit,sleazing illegals and unregistered voters through the system to swell the ranks of people beholden to them. People who counted on Government largesse to forever fund a lifestyle of non-productivity and merest survival even in the best of times.
If any one dared raise a voice they were scorched with the lable of Racism and Mean Spiritedness. As it stands now there are millions of unaccounted for illegals wandering around our country. Many are probabley quietly working and sending funds home to families,who are waiting for the time when they too can get across the seive we call our borders.Sadly many are plotting our demise.
This is not a call to close our borders, nor is it one to shut down immigration. It is a call for accountability. I want to know where each and every guest is in this country, who they are and what are they doing while here. I don't want new laws so much as I'd like to enforce the ones already on the books.
The time is ripe for a grass roots mandate demanding proper accountability of a system which is beyond broken. We actually have unknown people running around this country, with visas long past expiration, who are plotting our deaths. We have lax security. We have sloppy bookkeeping, we have overspending. We have dead people voting and receiving government checks.
School systems are badly managed from a federal level and top heavy with administrators. The levels and standards of education are falling lower and lower each year. Students are squeezed through the pipeline like hogs in a Russian Sausage Factory,with nary a thought to quality control.Lower standards rob children of the chance to rise above the serfdom of mediocraty the Democrats have planned for them.
Various groups with various agendas have pledged much time,strong-arming and funding to the Democrats and now these groups are well represented in the schools. It is not by accident Gay/Lesbian Lifestyles,Neo-Greenism and an altered view of History,among others, are being taught to children by people who know the wisdom of getting to the young and indoctrinating them early.
When Bill Clinton made his plea for school children to cough up money to balance the budget , his buddies in the NEA were quick to oblige. Remember when he shamelessly cashed a thousand dollar check from a student's life savings and threw it into the event horizon of our national debt? It will not be long before the complaints of "using students for Propaganda" are muttered by these same teachers, as young Americans happily donate a dollar each to feed hungry children in Afghanistan.
Now is the time for the "YOUs and MEs" of this great country to roust ourselves from the free ride of the nineties. WE, and WE alone, can be the most effective weapon in this fight on the home front. While our Congressmen are busy passing gas and passing idle, WE the VOTERS should be voicing the changes that must be made. Imagine if your favorite Republican stood up and dared voice a concern over the sorry state of education. The Media and the Left would demand money, money and more money and accuse him of partisan politics.They would crucify any congressman who dared to voice the true remedies.The Political Left is Ripe with Folly and Shamelessness.
But we, the unwashed ,are immune from their tirades and rants. If a grassroots fire springs up, if the people are seen as stirred to wrath,now in the day of Ninety percent approvals, we could actually push much of our agenda forward. We need to open our party to all classes ,stations, types and minorities. We need to triangulate and take issues that were once seen as Democrat property and re-frame them as our own. We need to provide the germ of solution with each issue.We need to once again wrest power away from a centralized mind set and bring it back to the people. ALL THE PEOPLE.
Include those you work with, those guys at the diner where you have lunch, with any one you can think of,numbers are currency in Washington.
I am sure each of you have a cause or two , a gripe or two, something you know needs fixing or dismembering.
Now is the time to write your words down and send them out.Guide and direct your Senator,your Congressman, your President. To be sure Mr.Bush will have a plate full of foreign entrees for a while ,but we still have two small yellow cars filled with many clowns. They need to be kept busy doing what WE want. Now is the time.....the Struggle Continues
Remember, there are about 1/4 of the elected officials who are dyed-in-the-wool conservatives, and about 1/4 on the far left. That leaves about half in the mushy middle. Thank God for them, because without them, the people would hold NO sway at all. They can be influenced because they don't really know their own mind. But, OH HOW MUCH BETTER it would be if 1/4 were leftists and 3/4 were committed conservatives.
All I'm saying is that it's so much easier not to have to convince your elected officials because you know already know they will vote right, than to have to convince people who are tossed and turned by the winds of favor, PR, money, and an occasional vote swap arrangement.

Hear, hear. David Horowitz has been doing this very well with education, "academic freedom", and reparations. As one who believes in working to elect conservative Republican candidates, I think one of the great things about Free Republic is the breadth of its reach. Cultural wars have to be waged, not just in the political arena, but in the media, in education, in the arts and sciences. In the long run, only a people who understand liberty will be able to preserve it.
