If you have a baby on the way, bought a new car or house, found out your kid aced his SAT, are having a good harvest, caught an excellent fish, or have some other happy news please post it. I am so depressed and sad for my country, and I don't know ANYONE in person who has had anything nice happen in the last month. Not one person.

I'm due with a baby boy on Dec. 8, but Monday my doctor told me he's going to induce me a week early -- because of my age and the fact that I am so BIG (with child). It's the first time in my life I was thrilled to be OLD and HUGE. :o) Our daughter will have a brother and hubby and I will have a son as well as another tax deduction. Also, I think I've talked Mr. Chip into finally buying a new sectional sofa for our family room. We're going out to shop for one tonite!

I found out that there are a lot of wonderful people across the US, and that Freepers are at the top of the list. We gripe at each other, just like any family, but when the chips are down, we stand together. Remember, you are loved. Mike

I too am cheering for the Mariners. They came into the American league together with the Toronto Blue Jays which is my team and have been wretched until just the last few years. Pat Gillick is their GM and he was the architect for the Blue Jays 2 World Championships so there is a link. The best news of all time of course is the gospel. John 3:16 sums it up.

My husband bought a snow blower and some nice clothes for himself, and got them all at good sale prices.
Our tax rebate will pay for most of the snow blower.
Our 3rd grader is doing very nicely on his schoolwork, and our 1st grader just came home with 100% on his math test.
We still enjoy laughing over the Three Stooges or Captain Underpants
Our parents have all been traveling, and safely reached their destinations and home again
The fall colors are shaping up nicely, and the frogs and fish in our pond are happily winding down toward winter.
I feel better now!

I got good news yesterday. The skin biopsy which was done about two weeks ago ruled out skin cancer!

My daughter was born three months early. People said she wouldn't make it. It was the most...challenging time of my life. She is three years old now. Her teachers at pre-school say she is an exceptional student. She goes to karate and takes piano lessons.
Next Wednesday, we go back to the hospital for tests. Just to see how she's doing. Everyone thinks she's so smart. I am so proud of her. Even when she wakes me up in the middle of the night. I love her so much...especially when she asks me for big hugs.

His cub scout troup went to the library last night & he got a Captain Underpants book. He read it in the car on the way home, he read it at the kitchen table after that, he read it before going to sleep, he read it the next morning, and last I heard, he was on page 89! My son has been checking out Captain Underpants from the library too. Love to see him reading. A bit coarse to my taste but obviously pants-wetting funny when you are 6 or 7.

From a recent Mark Steyn column:
"This week, at an anti-American demo in Dhaka, the usual excitable types jumped up and down waving giant placards bearing a montage of bin Laden portraits. When photos of the crowd were published, eagle-eyed observers noted that appearing side by side with Osama on the posters was Bert, a tufty-haired orange Muppet from Sesame Street who's usually paired, not with Osama, but with his fellow felt-head, Ernie. How did Bert get on a gazillion pro-Osama posters? It seems the great terrorist's supporters downloaded images of their hero from the internet and failed to notice that one was from a spoof "Bert Is Evil" site that puts up doctored images of the irascible Muppet with Adolf Hitler, O J Simpson, etc.
CC, my dear, whenever you feel frightened of our enemies, despairing at the idea of trying to conquer the forces that menace us, re-read the above quote and keep in mind that this is the kind of brainpower we're up against.

Good news here. The hot hot summer sizzeling is finally done here in Las Vegas and today it was in the 70's. That is a good day for a snow bunny, cause I keep melting in the hot desert heat.
The best thing are friends, all of you being in my life. That always makes me smile.
OH Mr. Snow Bunny registed at FR last night and even had me to his little profile page, heh heh.
He is screen name....FallGuy

I had a great day today. My hubby and I thought we were the only ones out there (kinda like a movie script), until we found everyone here at FR. Have you ever tried mapping a road trip trying to stay in FR country(friendly areas)?

New grandbaby; Destinee Laura Roberts, 1:14 P.M. 10/12/01, Franklin, Tn, 7 lbs. 3 oz., 21 inches tall (as my daughter said).
One more blonde to add to the tribe (I am the only non-blonde).
I have the two-year old here now, she is pestering her "Mee-Maw."
