Atta stuffed the envelopes since he was going to die anyway didn't have to be careful...someone else has been dropping them in the mail at pre-determined, timed, intervals.

Why AMI? Let's assume for a moment it was a terrorist action. That means they crashed planes of AMERICAN Airlines and UNITED (as in United States) Airlines and sent Anthrax to AMERICAN Media and possibly NATIONAL Broadcasting Co. Do you see a trend toward attacking anything that bears the name or has anything to do with the USA???

Does anyone find it odd that a photo editor had vision problems of this magnitude?I think that this is very strange indeed.

I believe the state health officer is brand new to the job and neither an M.D. nor a qualified medical scientist.
Kind of like the Coroner we had in Albany who filed an old lady in the cold cabinet before she was dead.

Does anyone find it odd that a photo editor had vision problems of this magnitude? We are talking about the tabloids here, wouldn't expect them to get the facts straight even about thier own employees. It would be a shame if they twist this story just to sell papers.

LN asked
"Crits?"
Sorry
Crit is shorthand for "Criticize" - I do copy work and write, and forgot it wasn't a common phrase for a minute when I was trying to encapsulate the heading for easy reference.
MWW
a CopyCritter ;)

I suspect anything with USA, America, United (as in United States) or American to the corrupt and ill minds of the terrorists are directly assoicated with the gov't of our Nation.
Also, to, again, the distorted minds of the evil terrorists AMI publishes what to these people must be an American paper. The publications of AMI are at EVERY check-out stand in every grocery and convenience store in America. This to them must mean they speak for Americans or some other warped association.

Just remember that before he was Director of HHS, Tommy "he drank from a stream" Thompson was Chairman of the Board of Amthrax...er...I mean Amtrak. Need I say more?

Atta would be perfect person to do this - he KNEW he was going to die in a plane crash before he'd die of Anthrax. Why would he care about contracting a disease he knew he would never die from?
If it had been some other terrorist doing it, he'd have died from the exposure by now and we'd probably discovered his body by now. I just had a thought, didn't I hear something about Atta taking a several-thousand mile road trip in the weeks before the attack?
Couldn't that trip have been to deliver the fake-white-stuff stuffed envelopes (to operatives who would mail them) all over the country? It would nicely explain that cross country trip.

"...we must have left 20 messages. At 7:30 somebody finally picked up the phone."
Do their phones have arrows on them or something?

--thanks for the information. yes, we have a right to know, and they should say so. Let the chips fall where they may, we are adults, and the ones who can't handle the truth..too bad! let them go watch wrestling then or whatever they do. Pandering to the lowest common denominatior is ok for teevee advertising on the sitcoms, it is not appropriate behavior for our employees in government. "Government" is the people's employees, it's NOT the other way around. Releasing a yes or no to whether it's a terrorist attack or not does NOT violate any national security issues or constitute "loose lips sink ships" stuff. And no, I think they are being just a shade disingenous when it comes to this issue, and some others, twa800 comes to mind readily.

Unfortunately, in our two-week long effort as a nation and as individuals to bury our heads in the sand about this and hope that it goes away, we have failed to think things through. There are two basic possibilities here:
(a) either this letter bomb campaign is a sputtering, last gasp of a terror campaign that has been successfully suppressed by our response to the 9/11 attack, or
(b) it is part of a larger, phased campaign of which 9/11 was merely the opening shot. The evidence points to lead hijacker Atta's involvement in the prep work for the letter bomb campaign. Think it through and ask yourself which theory that supports.
Sorry to be the bringer of bad tidings. We should have declared a National State of Emergency on 9/11 and locked down the whole country: rounded up Arab nationals, suspended private aviation, etc. If the largest terrorist attack in history and the attempted destruction of the White House and Capitol by hitherto unidentified terrorist cells in our own country does not constitute a national emergency, I don't know what does.

Then you must also believe that common individuals can develop Anthrax without being detected. Geesh! What is the IQ on the web site anyway? The terrorists found the perfect delivery system. The US postal service. What does this bio-delivery system cost? About 35 cents? You people need to buy a clue.
You were sputtering so much over your reply, you failed to read the original posting. NOONE, and that includes illbay who I was replying to, has ever suggested that these guys developed anthrax on their own. We are just suggesting it is not going to be Atta or his cronies who did it. Recall the Tylenol scare a many years ago, there was at least one copycat that poisoned people in the supermarket to divert attention from the fact that he had also poisoned his wife. Who knows, maybe this is some sick mofo in a research lab somewhere. Illbay posits, and I agree, that the source of this anthrax will be found to be someone unconnected with the hijackers of sept 11.

The guy's obviously a paranoid nut case. As government officials have told us repeatedly, these are all unrelated attacks that have nothing to do with terrorism.

Indexing highly informative piece.
Coz is annoyed with the Palm Beach County authorities for not tipping off AMI sooner. He should be even angrier at the CDC, which must have been aware that the NBC employee in NYC started to be treated with Cipro on Oct. 1.
To: somena2001
Palm Beach is the last refuge of fools.
That press conference they held was bizarre
