Two Men Arrested Near Folsom Dam, FBI Has Been Notified Posted: 10:40 p.m. PDT October 11, 2001

FOLSOM, Calif. -- The FBI has been notified of the arrests of two men at Folsom Dam.

The men were arrested about 11 p.m. Wednesday night after they were spotted in a restricted area near the Dam.

Both men were placed in the Sacramento County jail.

It's believed that the men were illegally trying to gain access to a fishing location, but officials say that they are taking no chances in this climate of heightened security

Ok, Sacramento Freepers, give us some feedback on this.

KSFO, San Francisco, just carried this story!

If they were in Folsom Lake, and they had intended something bad, the water supply would be a potential target!

If they were below the dam, the dam itself and the hydro electric system could have been a target.

If they were illegal fishers, my bet is legal or illegals from SE Asia. These people since they came over after the fall of South Viet Nam, have been openingly violating many fish and game laws. The PC Fish and Game Managers and local judges have kept the Fish and Game Wardens from doing their jobs. The warders would arrest them for very serious violations. The left wing extremist judges and their buddies the ACLUers would get the cases thrown out of court inspite of tremendous evidence of poaching and killing fish or game out of season!

I will post a followup here to show the change in Fish and Game post 9/11!

Affecting the water supply is doubtful simply based on the volume of water and the requiet amount of chemical/biological it would take to contaminate......truckloads...

An attack on the power grid is possible with a relative small amount of explosives.....

Most likely, illegal fishermen.....

Ex Sacramento type here. I recall people camping overnight all along the river during striper and salmon season. They wanted the best 2 square foot spot to stand in when the opening whistle blew at sunrise.

Without more information, this really isn't "unusual".

Fish & Game Wardens Take On Anti-Terrorist Duties Wardens Using M-14 Assault Rifles Posted: 10:29 p.m. PDT October 10, 2001 Updated: 11:02 p.m. PDT October 10, 2001

EMERYVILLE, Calif. -- Fish and Game wardens have traded in their usual waterway duties to help in the safeguarding of the state's waterways.

Wardens are joining forces with the Coast Guard.

"We're all in kind of strange times. It's a new role for us, but we're glad to participate. We want to keep these ports open and free," State Fish and Game spokesman Frank Spear said.

Wardens normally carry side arms, but now they are also carrying M-14 assault rifles on their shoulders, emphasizing that their newly expanded role is not one that is out of their league or training.

You sure it wasn't a couple of whitewater rafting guides washing down out of the South Fork of the American River?

They've been terrorizing up-stream property owners since the mid-1970's!!!

There have been a number of posts lately that MEs have been hanging around reservoirs. I wonder why? If you want to poison drinking water then dumping something in the reservoir is not a particularly good way to approach the problem given the sheer size of these man made lakes. I won't go in to the best way to do it.

Something is happening in Miami. I am listening to the Miami police scanner at policescanner.com. They just dispatch a whole bunch of units to the same location. Also, one of the officers requested that Dispatch contact the Division of Emergency Management. He told the dispatcher that EOC wanted to be notified in situations like this but he didn't specify. It didn't sound like it was a huge emergency. I will keep listening. Any Miami Freepers hear anything?

I'm sure that these are illegal fishers, probably Mungs, who violate every Fish & Game Law we have.

If they were out in a boat at night below the dam with fishing gear, that is violation of Ca. Fish and Game Laws re fishing at night on our Rivers!

Regardless, I'm very glad to see these Wardens in an expanded role. Maybe now when they arrest an illegal alien, the pc judges will follow through and the INS will step in! Most wardens that I meet in Cali are well trained and would love to do a good job if allowed to by their PC management and the left wing judges in the counties where they work and the left wing asst. DA's who put Fish and Game violations in the lowest priority!

...and the two "suspicious characters" had 150 tanker trucks of poison concealed in their pup tents...

First they came after pilots, now fishermen. Recreational boaters are next. Certainly the feds have read Hayduke Lives!, where a houseboat full of am-pho was used in an attempt to blow up Glen Canyon dam.

Psychological warfare.

Let's say you're a mullah, and you have a number of members in your congregation who are not committed enough to do actual sabotage. So you send them off to go to various locations and act suspicious. They get arrested and let go. If you're lucky, they get hassled enough in the process to radicalize them. Meanwhile, you wear out law enforcement with false alarms so that when the real thing comes, they'll be slower to respond

Hey, good to know that you are still alive and raising heck up there. I was afraid that the terrorists had kidnapped you, and they were using you as a secret weapon!

Do you remember a post on FR, (I believe) shortly after Gore posed in a canoe and wasted several million gallons of water for that PR shot in a drought on that river. The post was an animated one where Enviral Nazis were in canoes and they came out and over a deep waterfall. There were conservatives lined up with shotguns below, saying "PULL!" like at a skeet range. Then, a bearded enviral river rat would go off the edge, flying in the air in his canoe. A conservative would shot his shotgun. The enviral and canoe broke up like a skeet getting a 90% load!

Whenever, you make one of your posts re the enviral white water scums, I think of you saying, "PULL"!

I am not going to comment on this because you aren't ready to believe it. There is a reason why they are so stupid when it comes to fish.

Just listened to KCRA's story about this incident (at 8:03am). They didn't add one iota of extra information about it . . . I hate political correctness.

Once there were two fishermen fishing in a stream when one of them looks up and notices a game warden slowly making his way toward them. One of the two fishermen immediately drops his fishing rod and sprints away at high speed. The game warden sees what is happening and goes into pursuit. About a half-mile down the trail, the game warden catches the guy and says, "OK, show me your fishing license."

The guy reaches into his wallet and pulls out his license and shows it to the game warden. The warden then asks, "Why did you run if you have a fishing license?" The guy responds, "It's my friend. He's the one who doesn't have a license."

Ask any manager of a zoo (off the record) whether the poaching of their animals has been a problem, even in broad daylight.
