Goodbye, FR. Just got kicked in the teeth by the owner himself

Here's a direct private FR email I received from Jim: I do not want the article on FR. I don't care who else printed it or what their title was. Not here. Jim

And with that, my days of Freeping are over. I believe that the owner of this forum has the right to have things the way he wants them. No argument comes from me on that one.

However, if I post an article with someone else's title, and specifically state whose title it is, I do not think that the thread should be pulled. I would venture to say that the people of the forum should decide for themselves if a title such as that was appropriate.

But it's not my call.

Take care, fellow conservatives. It's just a bit too touchy-feely around here for this brotha.

LOL! I like it. Better register the domain now, before someone else sees this and snags it.

We may not be perfect . . . .

Thank you, Jim. You admitted fallibility. That is all I was wondering.

(Sort of like the time I had a post pulled and I went and posted to FReepers at large my apologies for my ill-thought out post. I'm glad it was pulled: I'm fallible.)

I will readily defend a guy who admits his fallibility while trying to do the best he knows how -- even if he pulls posts I wish he would leave up.

Have never questioned your RIGHT to pull any and every post. (Be it resolved: You own this sandbox.)

Like Rush Limbaugh, you have performed a great service to America by breaking new ground with this forum. (Still doesn't mean I agree with Rush on much of what he says.)

Besides, anyone who ticks off the Washington Post and the LA Times enough to get sued is all right in my book.

FRegards,

BenR2

Now, is it fair of me to say that your typical response is one that is attack oriented and rude?

Sure and for that I take my medicine when I go to far and don't whine about being "censored". You on the other hand post endless vanities on a forum that you now accuse of being PC. Now, you tell me, where else would you be able to share your "brilliance" in such quantity night after night, month after month, year after year?

To: rdb3, Jim Robinson, golitely, Ms. AntiFeminazi, Pray4USA,

"..too touchy-feely around here.."

Well, hope you read your mail here, brother. Once upon a time my brother - younger than me, as I'm the oldest of 5 - got me slapped in the face. By something HE said. I made the mistake of repeating what he said within reach of my mother's long arm. What I said was something like, "John called Mr. Jones a nigger."

Mom's slap, she explained, was for two reasons. She said she didn't want me to utter the word (and in those days it was ‘fashionable') - and she said that I was not supposed to tell others what my brother had said, but was to slap him if he ever said it again. I've never forgotten what she told me, "That word is verbal club that hurts people, and it hurts a lot worse than that slap. Never forget that." Needless to say, I have not.

I grew up in a town where Mr. Jones' family was the only black family in town, and I went to school with his children. At the age of 17 I joined the Navy, and in boot camp one day in the barracks a guy asked me, "Are you prejudiced?" Frankly I didn't know what he meant, and asked him, "What do you mean?" He just asked the same question again - and began to make fun of me, calling others around him to join in the fun. He finally said, "Well, do you like niggers?"

It seems I had made the cardinal mistake of talking to a black recruit within his eyesight. I just looked at him and his pals for a moment, and said as I recall, "So you don't - and you slap people around verbally that do. Is that being prejudiced? Is that a badge you wear with pride?"

The lot of them turned and left me alone, and I had my first introduction to something I had only seen once in my life - at the hand of my mother. I felt their slap - from those I learned were bigots. I didn't grow up hearing it, but for that one time. But I grew up knowing it was wrong to use it - period.

Knowing that, and that Jim Robinson holds similar views - I'm not surprised that when he read that bit of mindless drivel from Harvard that he yanked it off the forum. Not as a slap at you, but because giving voice to that tripe is slap at all of us - particularly at conservatism itself.

Let it simmer a while. It's not ‘touchy-feely' to want to throw a gag in the mouth of Harvard idiotic-swill-spewing vermin. Man, it's just the bloody thing to do, rdb3! After you think about it, come back here and let us continue to enjoy your company. You're too damned valuable a guy to lose around here.

...and moderators, keepa yer hands offa this, the 'profanity' ain't - it's called passion! ;)

Thanks. By the way, anyone who enters "TheSmokeyBackRoomForum.com" must agree that he is a thick-skinned adult who can take it as well as he dishes out and will not be offended or whine about it no matter what. Also, by the way, the forum will be moderated by crusty old vets like A+Bert. Whiners get booted.

I disagree with you that you have a "right" to post here. It is an open forum, but it is privately owned, and it does have rules. If you go to a shopping mall, and start loudly speaking the same stuff, security would show you the door.

I agree with you that Jim's idea of a separate, unmoderated forum is a great idea! I'd post there myself.
