In Evansville, Indiana tonight local police, athorities, and the FBI were called to Deaconess Primary Care Center. A employee of the Care Center opened a threatening letter that demanded money and contained a white powdery substance. The letter was postmarked Sept. 11 and was from Nigeria. The care center and local business' were evacuated. All employees and people inside the care center were de-contaminated. The substance was tested and came back negative. Thank God, it was not harmful. It gave several people quite a scare. It also gave local police and anthrax teams a good test run, to see how prepared they really were. It was also reported that several of these letters were sent in the state of Indiana. All postmarked Sept. 11 and from Nigeria.

Well - I'm 1 1/2 hours east of Evansville - in southern IN - right across the Ohio River from Louisville.

In the last 2 days - our local news have run stories about scares in Covington, KY, 2 in Louisville, and 3 in Lexington. The ones in Covington and Louisville were reported as false alarms fairly quickly. The ones in Lexington - well - the reporters kept saying that they were still being investigated. The letters had postmarks from South Africa, with mimeographed letters.

Now we have Evansville.
