I do hope and pray that Israel will finally realize that billions in US support and the enormous sacrifice the US military are about to make, make it incumbent on them to compromise.

How is it that you compromise with someone who only wants your total destruction?

By committing partial suicide?

Oh thank gosh for the clarity of the Guardian.

The State of Israel has a Motto. Never Again. Learn it and understand that Israeli's will go Nuclear literally rather than have another holocaust.

The march to the chambers last time, never again.

BTW, can you tell me why an egyptian is in charge of the PLO.

This is Bush's biggest mistake. If this story is not a bunch of propaganda, then it will be the downfall of America. God will not stand for it and the Israelis are God's people.

Mr Bush, whose patience with the Israeli prime minister, Ariel Sharon, has finally snapped, is drawing up a detailed plan to be published in the next few weeks in the hope of finally resolving 53 years of conflict.

Probably more like an abomination of desolation.

FYI. I know you have been praying for a while but I believe President Bush is in dire need of prayer right now. (If this story is true) If he makes this mistake by forcing Israel to the negotiating table I can tell that it won't be long for America to cease to exist.

It is based on proposals on the table when the Israelis and Palestinians met in January at Taba in Egypt, the closest they have ever come to agreement. It envisages Jerusalem as the shared capital of Jewish and Palestinian states.

One has to wonder why Arafat would accept now what he rejected earlier, assuming the January proposal did propose a joint city, and Barak accepted it? Did he Monkeyshine?. I believe the offer prior to January put the Arab part of Jerusalem in the proposed Palestinian state, but I could be wrong.

He stated in his speech tonight that he would like to see a Palestinian State. But ONLY if that State would recognize AND respect the State of Isreal. As this will never happen I don't see how this article is much more than propaganda. Arafat had his chance...several times, in fact. They don't want a State only, they want Isreal to disappear.

That constituting approximately 0.0000002% of the total population. Sadly, both of them are in the final stages of senile dementia!

Bush is real friend of Israel. According to the BIBLE if you Bless Israel, you will be Blessed, You curse Israel you will be cursed. If you sing " GOD Bless America" and you don't Bless Israel, GOD will not bless you, according to the Christian BIBLE and guess what, President Bush knows that too. He has read the BIBLE all the way through twice and he believes it too!

Mr Bush, whose patience with the Israeli prime minister, Ariel Sharon, has finally snapped...

Bollocks. It doesn't pass the sniff test.

I could believe President Bush is disappointed with Sharon's 'don't repeat 1938' speech, but snapped? Nope.

The ideas, which were to be announced in a speech by the US secretary of state, Colin Powell, that was postponed because of the September 11 attack, are expected be revealed formally later this month....

Mr Sharon will visit Washington next month to press his case, Israel Radio reported yesterday. He is known to be angry that Mr Powell consulted Saudi Arabia and Egypt but not Israel when he drafted his speech.

Palestinian officials lauded the idea of a "viable homeland"

I have an idea about where they can go...it's quite warm, has abundant energy, even some minerals. There's a nice river there too...the river Styx....

They should feel right at home!

Why is it that everyone gives the Israeli's shit? God knows they've tried. The last years hardships for the Palestinians have ALL been their own making. Theirs and theirs alone. HOW do you negotiate with people who's stated goal is your complete and utter destruction. How do you compromise with people who don't want to compromise.

Barak tried. He called Arafats bluff, and Arafat faltered. Declaring a new war was the only thing he had left. He had no ideas the Jews were serious. And in their anger and understandable BETRAYAL, they elected Sharon, however foolish that might have been. What the Pallys sow, they should reap. We're talking about people who dance in the streets when our innocents die, and who celebrate the "victories" of their "brave" suicide bombers with elaborate recreations.

I think it's a very simple solution. Carve out some land, give it to the Pallys, and say "Okay. There you go. Here is your f***ing homeland. Enjoy it. Build it up. Make the most of it. Do what the Jews did, and make it fertile and productive. Don't make yourself God Damn pansy-ass, liberal victims anymore. Don't complain about how ALL the land should belong to you. It doesn't any more. COPE, you bastards. You got your land. Let Israel have their land. Shut up, and don't make us nuke Mecca, for crying out loud. And Israel, shut up. Let the crybaby Pallys have their state. Build a gi-normous wall on the Neo-Palestine if you wish. But don't you cry either.

Unfortunately, I don't believe that will REALLY solve the problem. Osama Bin Laden and the rest of the Muslim world will come up with new and wonderful excuses why Israeli's must all die. Just as if we try to appease Osama Bin Laden, he'll continually come up with new demands that must be satisfied. The idiot already expects us to cough up 1.4 trillion dollars for all the oil we "stole"....

Islam is peace. It was about Israel after all. The arab countries aren't oppressive, and even if they were, it is all America's fault. Muslims hate America because it is the real cause of every one of their problems. Islam does not think it is superior to Christianity. They don't hate the west because of women's rights, democracy, etc. Make nice.

It was all about Israel. Let's blame them. We'll create a Palestinian state and give money to its "refugees" but not one dime to jewish refugees from arab lands. Shift the world's focus on Sharon. Ignore Hussein. Ignore Wahhabism. Blaming, or focusing on the Jews will allow the oil to flow, let us not end the muslim terror all around the world. Let more muslims come to our countries to live and study. Let them immigrate. They will never be a threat. They will adopt our values. Let's hug and forget this ever happened. Kum-ba-ya. It was the Jews.

Barak nearly gave away the whole State of Israel awhile back, and that still wasn't enough for the Arabs.

How dense can we be to continue to not accept the fact that the Arabs have no desire for peace. There only goal is the obliteration of the State of Israel.

Israel's only hope for survival as a nation is through a strong military and a strong intelligence network, and the exercise of brute force to maintain their borders and their security.

Don't divide Jerusalem, I'm warning you!

Revelation 16:19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.

Jeremiah 50:41 Behold, a people shall come from the north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.
42 They shall hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel, and will not shew mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, every one put in array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon.
43 The king of Babylon hath heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail.

See: Zechariah 2

Ouch!

Palestinian officials lauded the idea of a "viable homeland" - seen as an improvement on Mr Bush's call for a Palestinian state.

Methinks there is some newly available real estate available in Afghanistan - a real fixer-upper. Presently being renovated by the U.S. Airforce and Navy. SF extermiators are currently scheduled to delouse the entire property with extreme prejudice. Call your broker now! This deal won't last!

But they do point out to us that they have a general problem with their own people, that we have lost interest in the peace process. It is a perception we need to counter."

If they have a general problem with their own people, what's this WE stuff?
What are THEY doing to counter the perception?
It sounds to me like they are saying, we have a problem but it's really your problem.

So what's the problem?

Do you mean that the US should compromise and return half of California and Texas to our Mexican neighbors ? Is that what you hope and pray for ?
