in the Reformation[sic].

I have noticed you do this a lot. I guess we should then say (when referring to your church): Catholic [sic].

Sentence of the day:
This is what we mean when we claim that the Holy Writings interpret themselves...all the parts shed light on each other...All it takes is reading and comparing.

I take this as a plus for scripture alone interprets scripture, welcome to our side SD. :-)

Yeah!! Sic'em, angelo!!!! JHavard has gone too far on this one!!! He OBVIOUSLY does not know MY dogs!!!! 8 D

LOL!

Let's see. My cats have a nice, warm house, all the food they want, cozy places to sleep, birds to watch out the window, two kids who cuddle them, pet them and play with them, clean litter boxes...I think they already are in Heaven.

My idea of the ideal vacation is to be a cat for a week. Sleep all I want. Eat when I want. Do what I want.

I don't we ever "need" new threads, but if anyone tries to download the whole thread or use "old style" that would be problematic.

Indeed. dignan3, I think it goes without saying that Catholics don't regard the Reformation as a good development, or as a reforming of anything. There is no need to belabor the point or be overly pedantic. We can't very well expect all of these Protestants here to accept being called "Protestant" by default, because of common usage, if we object to the commonly used term "Reformation."

Excellent point, and I think comparing Scripture to Scripture is the best way to form correct interpretations, but I wouldn't use the phrase "all it takes".

Where does scripture say that there are no animals in Heaven?

Just the other day I was thinking, "what possible new subjects haven't we touched on in here?" and I thought we'd probably be discussing animals in heaven soon. And lo and behold. lol.

There's no right back at ya. I asked you first for a chapter and verse and would appreciate you stop dodging the question. If ya don't have one just say so. I can accept that.

Did the sorcerers not fraudulently create the same miracle.

There were subsequent miracles that the sorcerers were unable to duplicate, thus showing that the God of Moses was most powerful.

I think the silence from RobbyS means: "There ain't any".

And if ya want to know why the babtists practice what they do, ask a baptist. Nevertheless, I would appreciate you answering my 1 simple question first.

Sorry, perhaps I should have been clearer. The sentence of the day is something I find absurd. Yesterday we had Havoc speak of how there is no private interpretation going on and today we have the simple "Scripture interprets Scripture" statement.

You might call it the daily "I just read the Bible" quote.

The sentence of the day is something I find absurd.

The most absurd post I can remember is when some RC (allend?) posted that because Jesus is called "the second Adam" that it makes Mary "the second Eve". That one is hard to top on the absurdity meter.

Maybe he thinks he's misspelled it? ;o)

What're you doing here during the day? On vacation?

I am sorry that you never knew that the Catholic Church has always believed that the foundation of the Church was Christ. Did you think that we thought Peter came first and established a church and then invented Jesus as a vehicle to cart their personal philosophy to all nations?
------------------------------------------------------------

I, also, am sorry that you choose to make such a rediculous statement.

On the other hand, I do think the RCC has made some very imaginative "inventions" in order to justify their philosophy.

Yes a day off, my PC at work does not allow cookies to be added, so I can't post. That's probably a good thing, since I would never get my work done. I always wonder how you guys can do yours.

Nevertheless, I would appreciate you answering my 1 simple question first.

We should all know by now that there is a reference to entire "households" being converted and baptized. This reference is ambiguous and, oh my!, open to interpretation.

Exactly. How could Jesus be married to His mother?

(Unless it means something else....)

Some days are busier than others, and some months are busier than others. If the thread is not moving too fast, I can keep up even on a moderately busy day at work, just periodically refreshing it to see new posts. If a comment to me requires a long reply, I sometimes have to put it off until evening. November is shaping up to be a very busy month, so I will probably not be posting as much.
