Sorry I don’t know what you mean about the That's the standard leftist line.

I do know about attempts to stifle debate by use of words such as Politically Correct, fascist, or other such nonsense accusations.

As for lefty attitude, my attitude and analysis skills are more Military/intelligence based.

Saddam his self was surprised that America did not finish the job, political or military considerations aside.

There was a number of large scale uprising against his rule throughout Iraq, instead of encouraging them we sat down and allowed Saddam to tighten his grip on Iraq.

If we topple Iraq we topple a major contender for the Super State Islamic thrown.

Iran thought this position belonged to her, but it seems that the Arabs were not too fond of the Persians.

This leaves Iraq and Saudi Arabia in the ring, if Ayman Zawahiri gets his way Egypt will also throw her hat into the ring.

There is a major civil war being fought in the Middle East for the hearts and minds of the Islamic people. This war has being going on for along time.

Pass this past your smell test.

The Saudi Arabian Royal Family gave both financial and political backing to the Taliban who are allied with Osama Bin Laden, who wishes to overthrow the Royal Family

Saudi Arabian intelligence have firm links with Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

Where is the blood bath promised by Hamas and Islamic Jihad, it is almost like they are being told to cool it from above.

And just for a bit of conspiracy the head of Saudi Intelligence and the Royal families main link man with the Taliban resigned 24 hours after the terrorist attacks against America.

So forget the standard left, standard right standard liberal cr*p.

This is the Middle East, where you are friends on one level and enemies on the other, America knows this.

Divide and Rule has always been the easiest way to control the Middle East.

Undoubtedly, Iraq has recently stepped up plans to get terorist cells here in the US. Every passing week puts American people at greater risk. Waiting for allies to get on board could be a tragic mistake. Proving that Iraq has bio-terror labs is easy, especially if commandos are used. All we need is land. When we own land, we can stage the attack. In my opinion, we can take a small piece of land any time we want to. A block of land with an air base. Iraq is a divided nation. Certain Kurdish areas would love nothing better than to help us. We also have marines, airborn, and helicopters.

When the Twin Towers were attacked, I think Bush sees the world outside the US in a different light. Bush sees evil out there. And he wants it destroyed. Colin Powell will need a lot of vitamins to hold Bush back from Iraq, even if we fail to get support from anyone.

Saudi Arabia, is one of the biggest funders of various Islamic terrorist groups...

And who is the biggest funder of Saudi Arabia? America, of course.

We Americans are paying for our own destruction every time we fill up the gas tank in the family truckster.

It is time that Bush declared a jihad against the environmental terrorists within America who won't let us become energy self-sufficient and want to see our country die a slow death via economic extortion from the Middle East.

If I am not mistaken, not one petroleum refinery has been built in American in the last twenty years. The list of places off-limits to oil drilling - Alaska, Gulf of Mexico, California, Florida - keeps getting longer.

That absurd policy must be turned around, and soon.

reflected a growing desire from elements of the Bush administration to deal with Saddam Hussein.

That would be Colin Powell, of course, who also argued for leaving Saddam in power in 1991.

That, despite the overwhelming evidence compiled by Laurie Mylroie that Saddam was behind WTC 1993 and - by extension - WTC 9/11 (anyone but me find it strange that most of the hijackers have unknown identities, just like Ramzi Yousef?).

In any case, during a press conference last week - in full view of the press and presented live on CNN and Fox and C-SPAN - Rumsfeld made his stand quite clear by referring to our current activities as "this so-called war."

He and Wolfowitz and Woolsey seem to be the only realistic folks in the administration, pitted for some very mysterious reasons against Colin Powell and his bizarre "support" for Saddam.

Very strange, I'd very much like to understand Powell's rationale.

If we topple Saddam, we only create further instability in the region. We've got him pretty well sewn up, with the No-Fly zones, embargo, etc. Like it or not, our gov't wants to keep him in power as a counterweight to Iran. I think it's a case of "better a devil you know than one you do not".

What if you just kill all the devils? Just a thought.

I agree; many in the Middle East have grown tired of Saddam, and they want him and his flunkies gone.

Bush wants nothing if he does not want ANWR. He, as have many others, has grown tired on dependence on oil from the Middle East. He will use this to go into ANWR; the bill is already being written, and put forth by those who support it in the Congress.

Good to see you here again. I have not been here in quite a while, and I am happy to see the older members.

I am not sure if you are talking about the supposed link between George Bush and Saddam, when George Bush was head of the CIA.

America did not install Saddam in power, he took power for him self in a coup backed by his colleagues in the Baath Party, he used and still uses methods very similar to Stalin.

Saddam was backed by the Soviets. The American link was supposed to be rediscovered during the Iran/Iraq war.

September 11 makes it mandatory that Hussein must go.

We no longer have the luxury of waiting until he and others perfect chemical, nuclear, and biological weapons.

Obviously, if they will do what they did on September 11, arabs will do anything.

So it's not a matter of if, but when.

As far as the Saudis go, they are pussies, and they know that we can just as well turn on them, and they are hosed. Goodbye holy sites, goodbye oil, goodbye everything.

And, they know, that we know, that deep down, they too are responsible for all this muslim crap that is going down.

So, I don't think that we should take their or any arabs feelings into account.

Like the pussies they are, they will say nothing when and if we decide to do anything to Hussein.

Instability!?!?!

Ummmm....I think you've missed my entire point.

Despite the recent disinfo that "Iraq was not involved in WTC 9/11," there is plenty of evidence that he was involved in WTC 1993; that Ramzi Yusef was/is an Iraqui intelligence agent; and that Saddam continues to use proxies such as bin Laden in his war against America.

There was info last week that Atta had met with Iraqui intelligence in Europe last year, and at least 4 of the 19 hijackers remain unidentified. I believe all of them have been operating under false identities for many years, and that we don't truly know who they are or where they came from.

As I also already mentioned, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, James Woolsey and lots of other folks have been vehemently pointing at Saddam since 9/12. The only person downplaying Saddam is Colin Powell.

If this is the case - I of course believe it is - then Saddam is already behind plenty of instability, though right here in America.

You think the madman Saddam gave up and surrendured in 1991? You think it unlikely that he continues his war in conjunction with el Queda, Hamas, Hezbolla, etc?

I think that would be a rather naieve view of Saddam's madness, historical practice, and relentless determination. He's simply changed tactics.

I dislike sporting metaphors, but in this case I'll make an exception.
Stop looking at next week's game!

Unfortunately, Iraq apparently isn't waiting for the kickoff, which makes sense strategically. Lining up and waiting your turn to die has never been a popular military tactic. Iraq can rouse Muslims globally, they can ally with other nations (or at least convince them to NOT ally with us), and they can weaken many Westerners resolve for a very, very ugly fight (with the help of the traitorous Left, and the Peter Jennings' in the media)... and they're doing all that and more right now.

re : So, I don't think that we should take their or any arabs feelings into account.

It is not about taking Arab feelings into account.

Ask your self why is America in that part of the world in the first place.

This tells it all -POWELL SEES NO NEED TO ELIMINATE SADDAM-. Always when the real rubber meets the road you can determine who is with ya or agin ya. Same ole as letting Bubba off of the hook. These elites protect themselves (even if they are so-called enemies). Any of you question why this was said, any of you read the connections of the Bushes to Saddam, any of you wonder why Bush Sr, was at the White House at the time of bombing and I personally wonder why a very good friend of mine called me Sept 8 & told me his bro-in-law, a reservist, was called up on 9-8, not being allowed to tell his family where he was going. Anyone wonder why x-CIA persons sold airline stock short just before 9-11? Anyone question why Bush was on Air Force 1 flying around while the bombings were happening(which is understandable) but why they had to lie about the reason? Bush may be trying to do the best for this country but there are evil forces in our government (a hugh # of Bubba's people are still running our gov & GW keeps them in) so as Reagan stated, "Trust but verify".

Regarding horizontal drilling, if we don't drill horizontally, we GET drilled vertically.

One reason is the Israel thing, which the Brits had something to do with, back around '48, as I recall.

Next is the dinosaur juice.

Well, years ago this was discovered in great quantities on the Arab peninsula, and was easier to get than in Pennsylvania, Texas, Oklahoma, and, Tennessee (a la Jedd Clampett).

Problem was (and is) the towelheads were too stupid and lazy to extract the oil and sell it.

They were likewise too stupid and lazy to do anything normal with regard to building the material infrastructure of their nation.

So, they partnered with the white boys, who got their oil at a good price, and, in turn, the white boys basically allowed them to transplant en bloc, whole sectors of the techological, scientific, medical, and engineering marvel we know as western civilization.

And it is still the same way today.

None of the worthless arab bastards has enough beans and energy to fix a leaky faucet with his own hands.

So, knock it off with the, 'What are you doing there?' nonsense.

We are there because they have wanted us there for many years, and have encouraged our presence there, from the post-WW2 era onward. And they STILL WANT US THERE.

I can show you a medical journal from four months ago when they were actively seeking American physicians to come over and work in their hospitals.

And so on and so on, depending on what real-world skills they need because their own people are too stupid or dilettantish to learn a trade like engineering or medicine.

They are the most helpless and backwards idiots on earth.

And were it not for our thirst for oil, and their fortuitous ownership of it, they would be living in as primitive conditions as are still their co-religionists in the horn of Africa.

And, as soon as America develops the Alaskan oil reserve, the frozen methane extraction process, fusion, a little more solar, fuel cells, hybrid cars, and rediscovers the train and walking to the nearby workplace, Mr. Towelhead is toast.

His oil prices will tumble.

And he and his filthy race will crawl back under its collective rock for another thousand years, until some stimulus brings them back out again into the light of day.
