I'd like some clarification.
It is already known that in the first week after the attack that Sen Hatch was 'invited' to the WH for a 'discussion' regarding his disclosures in a TV interview.
It was my understanding that the most recent leak was a single source, and that Feinstein was the likely culprit, due in no small part to her immediate grandstanding about the right of the people's representatives to know what is going on.

Did Hatch make further disclosures beyond his initial mistake? If so, he needs a trip to the woodshed. Somehow I don;t see Orrin talking to the post, however. On the other hand, it has been rumored that Feinstein has a private table in their corporate dining room.

No matter who the leaks are identified as, they will probably be some of the same who took another oath in late January, 1999 to uphold the Constitution by conducting a 'trial' in the Senate.

Oaths aren't worth a hill of beans to some of these folks. "Treason, schmeason...I need to keep my press flacks happy."

I assume the Wash Post heard it from one and then wanted to confirm it with the other, so one probably was the "lead" leak and the other was probably "yes, I can confirm that..." Am I close?

Yeah, DiFi I can believe. No wonder she was the one belly-aching over Bush's comments yesterday.

As for Hatch...very disappointing. He got in hot water right after the attack on Sept. 11th for the very same thing. I'm afraid he has a major ego problem. I have a theory of what is really going on with him, having to do with his religion but, not wanting to offend anyone, I'll keep it to myself. It doesn't really matter anyway because his little fantasy isn't going to come true even if my theory is correct.

Bush is right to keep info from anyone who can't keep a secret. I think these 2 senators should be given a choice: publically admit fault and apologize or face censure: slap your own hands, or we'll slap 'em for you. Realistically, nothing more than that will come of this.

Even the Washington Compost thought printing the most sensitive part of this material might get someone killed so these leakers, whoever they are, should be prosecuted. If Booby Hatch and Fine Swine did the leaking, that fact should be shouted to the world. Their shameless disgusting behavior should have jail time consequences.

When this story came out in the papers last week and all of the critters came on TV I immediately recognized that the attack was imminent and predicted it would begin at Saturday @ 12:30 PM EST, thinking that Bush wouldn't start on Sunday - Bush fooled me, though - he started 24 hours later, exactly at the time I thought, but on Sunday, which was good (since Osama was fooled as well ). I even thought of posting on FR at the time and trying to get people to calm down and read between the lines of the "reporting" - but realized that I'd have to give away something I probably shouldn't, if my perceptions turned out to be accurate. But the fact Rumsfeld & Bush let the leakers leak stuff was key to the success of the plan IMHO - by having all the critters come out and announce that there was a 100% chance of an attack soon. That got people's attention and put the public on alert without spilling all the beans and then gave Bush & Rumsfeld the opportunity to blast the traitors that would place our troops at risk. Apparently, in counsel to 43, Bush 41 has indicated that one of his biggest mistakes during Gulf War was not prosecuting the Democrats who were then purposely leaking stuff to screw up the war effort & give Saddam cover as they then had no obligation to pretend they merely "supported the troops" while they (so openly) "opposed the war". IMHO this was brilliant planning on the part of Bush & Rumsfeld. When the "news" came out at the end of the week, last week, I was aghast - I found myself asking, why, oh why, would Rumsfeld let these people hear all this stuff when he knows - he had this prior experience - they would run out to the TV cameras, as before, and spill their guts - only to realize ... they wanted that to happen, to prepare the public for what was coming without alerting our enemies. In retrospect, I think the extra day's timing was a safety valve, just in case they didn't leak anything, as would be expected, and they had to give public warning in some other way.

"I am currently writing a piece on our national security at this current time for one of the papers I write for".

When you write your articles could you please add the the biggest threat facing this nation is our out of control immigration, both legal and illegal.

OUR BORDERS ARE "FREE FOR ALL" AND A NATIONAL DISGRACE. AND UNFORTUNATELY, NOW A NATIONAL SECURITY NIGHTMARE.

If it was Feinstein, we'd best not forget about this in next year's reelection effort.

I disgree with keeping the identity of the leak(er) from the Public. Voters *MUST KNOW* their elective representative is being so irresponsible with sensitive information and unworthy of the People's trust. To keep that information quiet...well...to borrow a phrase, 'if you're not with us (the People) you're against us.'

He or she should be outed at the earliest opportunity and whatever appropriate disciplinary action ought to be taken.

Thanks for posting this. I'll look forward to confirmation by the NY Post.

When you get to be the age of these idiot leakers, it's pretty hard to change your spots. People like this like to blabber because they like to brag how they are "in the know." The best thing to do would be for the leadership to move them to committees where they have no opportunity to do harm.

"...through military sources and a private document I saw with my own eyes..."

"Source: Military Naval Admiral/ Security Paper"

Being a veteran formerly assigned to MI units and possessing a very high clearance, I have to question the validity of anyone claiming to have viewed "private documents" and "security papers" with their own eyes, then running off to post the info on an internet bulletin board.

Government agencies would not take such a claim lightly.

This is a hoax.

What was the information that was leaked exactly? Not sure if it's true but, I heard that the information that was leaked wasn't anything to do with military movements or secrets, but that the administration told them that there was a 100% chance of another attack. If that's true, I don't know about you, but I'm glad it was leaked. I do not like it when information like that is withheld from us based on their assumption that it is 'for our own good'.

Well, nobody can fault the forthright way you just laid your credibility on the line.

If this pans out, you have given FR an impressive scoop.

Yesterday, I indicated that the leak could be either a Dem. OR a Republican, "OR BOTH,"

--- but the leaker could not possibly be President Bush,as one person asserted (on a FR thread/post) might be the case,

which is an outrageous assertion,

in light of the President's demeanor and words on this issue, and the fact that history has a way of revealing what is covered up.
