When the few snippets came out about the Russian money laundering business, I e-mail and wrote every publication that I could think of. I received only one real answer which was: There is minimal reporting because it involves the biggest names in big finance and the highest levels in our government. Remember, this was called the largest fraud in the history of mankind!

The Bin Laden network was in a position to get some lucrative "insider" info from the Carlyle Group.
BUSH SR. IN BUSINESS WITH BIN LADEN FAMILY CONGLOMERATE THROUGH CARLYLE GROUP You need to tighten this conspiracy up with a few facts. What "insider info"? Oh, your source is Judicial Watch.

regardless of any alleged Bush connection, the facts are:
- There was MASSIVE, unexplained trading activity in companies that would be most affected (Boeing, various airlines, etc)
- Despite the fact that tens of millions (and perhaps hundreds of millions) of dollars were made from inside advance info about the raids, the amount of mainsteam press interest about this issue has been minimal
To: SauronOfMordor
And the above investigation revealed NO bin-Laden connection.
To: GROUCHOTWO
And the above investigation revealed NO bin-Laden connection. Well, of course. Just because someone just decided to make a multi-million-dollar investment two trading days before the attack, on the assumption that certain stocks would drop precipitously, and tripled his money in a matter of a few days, would not indicate anything improper. There was nothing to suggest receipt of advance info from anyone who knew the attack was coming. </sarcasm> 8-)

The more I think about it, the more I believe that when the SEC traced back who was doing those trades, the trail led directly into the Saudi royal family (among other places). I think the reason we haven't heard more of this, is because it was a can of worms the Administration did not want to open at this time.
If the trail led to Iraqi or bin Laden fronts, it would have been all over the news. This also ties in with reports that the Saudis have been uncooperative in freezing assets of bin Laden fronts
To: SauronOfMordor
Because the Saudi family is a puppet government set up by the Western powers after WW1 and is tenuously holding on despite the challenges of their discontented minions, your premise seems unlikely.
The current unrest has caused the Royal family to flee the country, leaving the Prince in charge.
To: GROUCHOTWO
How does it seem unlikely? The Saudis might seem better than what's likely to replace them, and if the American people found out that some members of the Saudi family knew about the attack in advance and chose to profit from it, it would create a lot of pressure on Bush to do something unpleasant to the Saudis

Options market experts point out that trading records are transparent and that there should be a clear trail for investigators to follow, since no one can trade in options without opening a brokerage account. This is no easy task and can take months. The bin Laden group are very good at identity theft and falsifying ID documents. So you open up several options accounts months ahead of time; do your trades the Friday/Monday before; 9/11 happens, you cash out, wire the money overseas, and disappear. When the SEC investigators finally get around to looking for you, they discover the account's mailing address is an abandoned building.
I'm thinking the closure of the stock exchanges after 9/11 due to all the damage may have been an unexpected development for bin Laden, in that it may have allowed investigators to notice the goings-on before the markets reopened and the terrorists had a chance to cash-out their winnings.

They already have what they need to know, and what they know they don't want publicized, just like the xlintoooon investigations. For a long time, I've suspected that they've followed the money trail to its end, and the reason they don't want to say anything just now, is because the trail leads directly into the center of the Saudi Royal Family. Could you imagine the reaction of the US public to a revelation like that?
To: CommiesOut
And now, today's moral dilemma:
Suppose you woke up on the morning of September 10th, and although you can't recall any of the details, you have this vague recollection of a dream, the most lingering effect being that you just have this feeling as a result of the dream that today would be a good day to short some airline stocks.
So you call up your friendly stock broker, put some money on the line, and find your self a lot richer over the next few days.
Do you keep the money?
To: SauronOfMordor
Don't options trades take 1 business day to settle?

Didn't the 9/11 commission claim there was no Al-Quaeda involvement in the stock-market?

"The KLM shorting is interesting, I don't recall any of the grounded planes that had suspicious items found on board being KLM."
This is what's known as a sympathy play. These folks knew that all airline stocks would be down in "sympathy" with the airlines directly involved in the plot.

Doom? I'll tell ya doom. It's making China a permanent favored trading partner with PNTR so that we can ship our factories there.
