Because the Saudi family is a puppet government set up by the Western powers after WW1 and is tenuously holding on despite the challenges of their discontented minions, your premise seems unlikely.

The current unrest has caused the Royal family to flee the country, leaving the Prince in charge.

How does it seem unlikely? The Saudis might seem better than what's likely to replace them, and if the American people found out that some members of the Saudi family knew about the attack in advance and chose to profit from it, it would create a lot of pressure on Bush to do something unpleasant to the Saudis
