You're right Fred but I started noticing the Democrat defection during last years elections. Two of my oldest friends, die hard Democrats, voted for W. after Gore leaked the DWI info. That was too much even for them. Hank called me a couple of weeks ago and said ' Bill Clinton is a traitor. I cant believe I voted for the son of a bitch." He is a friend so I didn't rub it in.He's even tuning in to F.R. now.

There have been some incredibly ignorant postings here. Those who have bothered to attempt an argument seem to be stuck repeating the old Lenin line "with us or against us" until your throats bleed.

Anyone who bothers to read Rockwell and others like him on his page will know that Lew has no problem at all with the U.S. defending itself and the U.S. going after and punishing those who attacked us. But he and many of us are seeing all manner of very un-American and dangerous agenda items being slipped in under cover of "patriotism" or "the war to rid the entire world of terrorism" or whatever you will call it. Like suppression of any voices who wish to look deeper into this mess than "nuke 'em all". And that has happened here too many times to count. Many of you are proving what this author claims even as you are attacking him for saying it. An unintended irony, surely.

But go on slapping each other on the backs while your country is taken from you in the name of an ill-defined amorphous struggle against all the bad guys in the world. A messianic mission that even the Son of Man wouldn't manage.

To his credit, the president seems to understand what is useful and what is not in this struggle; his decisions thus far have been praiseworthy.

I supported operations Desert Shield and Storm. I was highly critical of Bill Clinton's actions in Kosova and his use of troops in Haiti and Somaila, but so far I support what George Bush is doing. My support or opposition to the involvement of U.S. troops overseas does not hinge on whether the president is a Republican or a Democrat -- it depends on whether what we are doing is just. I do not need you to tell me what is just; I'll make up my own mind thank you.

I have on numerous occasions offered olive branches to you, tried to reach some kind of understanding that we are both Americans in this time of war and asked you to tone down your hatred of all things libertarian, but you have comepletely rebuffed any attempted at friendship or forgiveness and contine to post lies, distortions, and insults about libertarians. Excuse me, but I am no fraud. Nor am I a traitor. It's easy to make wild accusations from the anonymity of a website.
