Can the Clinton Library be stopped?

Can the building of the Clinton Library in Little Rock be prevented? I assume it is unnecessary to argue the desirability of that end. (Historical documents from his misadmistration can be made available in the National Archives.) Sources of funding seem to be drying up with the amount collected to date far short of what is required. In addition, there is an historical landmark that will have to be razed to accomodate the building as planned. For more details, see: Clinton Library Means Demolition for African-American Built Landmark
Briefly, the 102 year old brick building is a freight depot, known as the Choctaw Terminal, or the May Supply Co., and is considered to be an important part of Little Rock's black heritage and was a landmark undergoing a preservation process when the land on which it stood was acquired (through condemnation) for the library. There is a group called Friends of Choctaw Terminal apparently endevoring to preserve the terminal. Moreover, the former owner Gene Pfeifer, is suing the City of Little Rock on the grounds that condemnation of his property under eminent domain law was unlawful because it was done on behalf of the Clinton Library [foundation] which is a private entity. Pfeifer will be heard before the Arkansas Supreme Court on Oct. 24. The question arises, what aid (financial presumably) could be given to the preservation group or to Pfeifer? There are two worthy causes involved here. Maybe Judicial Watch could lend a hand.

It goes on and on. Everything and everyone the dirtbag and her husband go near is stained, destroyed, despised,or outright murdered. America needs a free press to rein in gov.org.

You don't really believe this is a library, do you? This is a money laundering scheme and, yes, it can be stopped. But only if we had an AG who hadn't been neutered during his confirmation hearings.

Freepers, Freepers, Freepers, We must spell this project correctly: "CLINTON'S LIEBURY".

there will surely be plenty of 'hustler' magazines in the crapper and a bronze bust of flynt!

Oh my goodness. Why would we want to STOP it?! It could be FReeper USA Central!!! Why, me and a network of other overweight brunettes have been planning all along to visit often, hopefully in large groups, all wearing blue dresses, knee pads, and black berets. We were going to leave cigars, soiled thongs, bags of ice, and used bathroom sinks culled from dumps all over the country on the steps of the place. Oh what fun!!! Imagine what ELSE can be left! Already welders are fast at work producing enormous ZIPPERS we could drape, unzipped, over all road signs directing people to the Clinton Library. One of those babies and a few nylon tie straps and we could be in real editorial heaven! And there is MONEY to be made by locals who could set up stalls selling related books, merchandise (let your imagination run wild!) and toys. At some future time, when the Clintons themselves are out of the picture, we could make an honest "Clinton library" out of it by actually putting real honest facts about his misreign into the library. Meantime, I would delight in smuggling in copy after copy of the articles of Impeachment, the Starr Report, and (gasp) the Constitution right next to copies of all of his illegal executive orders....

i like your sense of humor! i think it would go over better in beijing!

We don't need a "Clinton Library" to remind us of our national shame.
Turn that old railroad terminal into a memorial for all who have died, and will die, in this war ... and a reminder to Americans to think of something more than their pieholes and 401k's when they go into the voting booth.
Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty ... electing a worthless scumbag for 8 years makes the price a lot higher.

OK, so the property was confiscated in the face of a heritage restoration and against the wishes of the previous (citizen) owner, what I don't unerstand is how it is now in danger of being torn down for the clinton liebrary....
How could they pay for the work when GWB has frozen the assets of Bin Laden and all of his supporters?
Only his OTHER supporters?
Never mind.

Build it where it belongs...in a trailer park. Or the ghetto. He is after all, white thrash and the first Black president.

In Beijing, if you're obnoxious, or correct, or both, they have to kill you.

"In Beijing,..., they have to kill you."They might not kill you if all of your organs were diseased and your family hadn't the money to pay for the bullet.

President Bush should declare the freight depot a "national heritage site" under one of the Clinton EO's.

Hehehe. Now that might be doable. Personally I can't stand stand seeing a sign anywhere in the state that reminds me of him. Our REAL libraries are suffering, our zoos are suffering, things of real public benefit are suffering because Little Rock is over extended. Still Clinton has no qualms about tapping the city for $6 million to help built his monument to celebrate his legacy of shame (since when were presidential libraries supported by public funds anyway)? And besides that, he has the audacity to stage a fund raiser for it here, in the midst of the war effort and the grief of the nation. Y'all recall that the online forum for it will not accept certain questions? In other words, anybody that has anything to say that is not in total praise of Bubba Narcissus, will be banned. What a guy.

Exactly my thoughts, only yours are more creative by far. I have been looking forward to visiting this liebrary since its inception, just to trash it when the guards (aka pimps) aren't looking. I can't wait!
