Any indications that this is terrorist-related?

Not wanting to alarm anyone of course.

I checked your source. No facts there to back you up. How about some more info?

Listen to Rush himself.

He says he will continue with the show. He needs to quit smoking.

Rush is a real American, he will find a way to overcome this and go on with his life.

I am certain of it.

That explains the quacking-like tone of his voice, which is typical of how deaf people sound to others.

This is so sad.

I figured that out by now.

I thought it was another silly Rush-bashing thread.

Prayers for Rush and Marta.

So sorry to hear this. My heartfelt prayers will be with Talk Radio's one-and-only, Rush Limbaugh.

Aww man, this sucks. He is a true patriot of the Conservative movement. May God be with you and all of us.

Stunning.

My deepest condolences.

Here's hoping that technology can push the envelope and allow him to continue...if he so desires. He wants to but we have to see how his voice holds up.

Just terrible...

I am losing my hearing too. It happens, sometimes genetic. Rush is about my age. There are Cochlear implants that work in some cases.

I hope it's nothing serious - i.e. something that can be corrected as opposed to an inevitable and irreperable deteroriation of his hearing.

Rush has been very gracious and open about this with his listeners. I respect him for his honesty and I feel terrible that this has happened to him.

I believe he will fight the good fight and stay on the air for a long time. I will also pray for a medical miracle for Rush as I believe in miracles.

Hang tough, Rush, we are with you! Like you say, all else in your life and attitude remain strong.

My best to you Rush, and a prayer for your total recovery. I am very sad to hear this news and impressed by Rush's classy style of dealing with what must be extarodinarily frightening on a personal level. Best of luck to you.

Although he said it was NOT genetic, he did not go into the reasons he was going deaf. He IMPLIED that it would involve speculation of a type. Nevertheless, he did say that he may be in line for a "cochlear implant," but that such is an absolute last ditch hope, because after that, there is no other remedy.

This is incredibly sad news. Helen Keller was purported to have said that deafness was a worse handicap than blindness; said that blindness separates you from things but that deafness separates you from people.
