"rush should run is show thru tube amps." Yea and he should turn up the overdrive to "ELEVEN because it's one more!"
(Mad Dawgg receives 10 pts for obscure "Spinal Tap " reference)

I'm with you. I don't understand the obsession with his voice. I just want him to be healthy and keep talking.
To: Bosco
He just signed a HUGE contract. I'm sure some things have been discussed that will help him make it through the next ten years.
Like a musician, he has to rely on the someties fragile human body. He loses his voice, it would be like Izthak Perlman breaking his index finger. or having it shot off. I think Perlamn died, however. OK, it would be like Buddy Rich losing an arm.

I just want him to be healthy and keep talking. DITTO! Well, he just said he'll get to the reason for his absence very soon. I'm all ears....

ReverseSpeech.comOkay Rush is saying "I'm not going to tease everyone about my vacation" and now has gone on for 5 minutes w/o mentioning it.

He just made reference to his "with talent on loan from God" tagline, stating that it's truer than ever, and then stated that he's going to get to his explanation regarding where he was last week, saying that we are "owed" an explanation about several things.
To: Bosco
I listened to Rush from the beginning. This is DEFINITELY the "old" Rush. Thurston Howell is nowhere to be heard.
To: katykelly
He just said "Talent on loan from God" has never meant more han it does now.
He is preparing to make an announcemet regarding his recent absence, and stated that it was not a vacation.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that he has had a health scare at the very least.
Wait a few more minutes and the man will explain.

You should complain to your local station. And their local sponsors. Your station is using "Cash Box" to compress the show and squeeze in an extra minute or two of commercials.
I've been seeing these threads for a year or more, but the voice that comes over my station is unchanged from 1992.

Another possibility is some kind of naso-pharyngeal surgery. Garry Meier of Roe and Garry on WLSAM finally went in for surgery on a gigantic nasal polyp. When he came back and the swelling went down, he sounded almost completely different at time, a lot more resonant since his nose wasn't plugged up all the time, slightly higher pitch. It took weeks for him to sound like Garry again, not that he regained his own voice, I just got used to it. I think the change in vocal quality may have been due to surgery; the rapidity, to time compression for ad revenue purposes.
I hear they've resurrected Andy Kaufman to be the translator for bin Ladin (or, as the news people say, ha ha ha, Mr. bin Ladin).

He's playing the Bin Laden tape. Has promised he'll explain his absence real soon.
To: Bosco
Their was a story going around the Sacramento area about two weeks ago that he may have had a stroke and that was affecting his voice. He is still the same old maha Rush to me.

I noticed right off the bat...thought it was the transmission...very weird sounding

KKelly this voice thing from freepers is puzzling to me and sice when are freepers and republicans PERFECT as it the measure it seems from this sight all the time
To: Terry Mross
He finally admitted a few weeks ago there is something wrong with his voice....he was concerned it was "getting higher" in pitch.
estrogen treatments? I truly hope not ...
To: Bosco
stuck without a radio. Please keep updating on personal issue? Thanks
To: Carol-HuTex
He may have dropped his Buckley voice for his own natural voice, thank Heavens. I have always been disappointed when Rush mimicked Buckley as part of his own personae. Clear impersonations are funny. That aspect is not.
To: Bosco
He sounds very odd. At times he sounds a bit like Bob Hope
