Well I could have saluted Italian women (some of the world's loveliest), or Italian cars (some of the world's fastest) or Italian art(some of the world's finest) but alas I just went for the lowest common denominator. Italian food from all parts is quite wonderful..(unlike Scotland for instance). In any fish and broth style dish except Gumbo type stuff, the fish should be added lastly and one should use a fish stock to season the dish during the main simmering session . This goes for Paella, Zuppa de Mariscos, Bouillabaise etc.

In my modest culinary opinion.

Yeah definitely the fish is slipped in last. Into the simmering soup. My favorite fish soup is the thin milky one at No Name Restarant in Boston. Eat it while real hot and add some black pepper to it. I despise creamy soups and chowders.

If one goes to the London museum and sees the Babylonian,Sumerian,Hittite and other displays prior to a certain Prophet 3000-4000 odd years ago the Middle East and Egypt had advanced civilizations whilst our ancestors were painting themselves blue and playing with big rocks.The genetics are there for much,much better.

Contemporary U.S. and European cultures have their share of problems (think of the recent Clintonian past), but, without getting overly Manichaean in the comparison, Berlusconi was right. Anyone want their hand or head chopped off by an Islamic saber? How about women completely covered with pup tents? Crazy guys shooting machine guns in the air on public streets? And an oily towel-head in a mountain cave listening to Allah telling him to kill women and children? Any gal here want to apply for a job in a Middle Eastern harem? We need to hear from moral relativists, multiculturalists, and anti-Christian bashers...Who among American "liberals" would like to spend the rest of their lives in Iraq, Libya, the hills of Afghanistan or Lebanon?... Let them promote their half-baked secularist socialism there...
