Nice work today, guys.
I was in the Barnes & Noble on Union Square when the FReep went down, and it was a beautiful sight to behold.

Excellent. How many peaceniks? On my way home tonight I was listening to NPR(only because AM radio doesn't work in my car) and some caller said that 12,000 peaceniks attended. She said this about 12,000 times.
Past experience tells me that is probably a lie. I'm just curious to know how far off she was.

What kind of signs did you have, what did they say?

Great show, Freepers! We must never let the anti-Americans have the megaphone of the street protest as their sole territory again!

Somalia?
Indonesia?Oh, wait a minute.....it was the Toon in the White House at those times, not a warhawk Republican. Sorry, my mistake. I bad.

C-Span had a feed from the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Channel) on a couple of hours ago which did a story on this. The CBC said that there were more than expected numbers of "peace" protesters, but the CBC appeared to devote the meat of the story to the pro-American counterprotesters. I sure alot of FReepers wound up on Canadian news tonight! I wish I was there.

It's hard to believe that these peace-nik terrorist appeasers would have the nerve to show their faces in NYC...

I'm eating my heart out! Next time I take the wrath of my wife and in-laws, blow off my "previous engagement" and hop on the LIRR

LOL, when I saw the title "Peaceniks subdued" I clicked on it expecting to see a hogtied hippie....
Oh well, I'm still not disappointed. Next time take lariats.

I met your great group today at your counter-demonstration in Union Square. I had read an article in Friday's New York Times which asserted that the peace fools would be demonstating, and I was utterly enraged. None of my friends were inclined to go down there to heckle them, but I did. I went there by myself, and seeing the throngs of assorted holdovers from the sixties, America- haters, and traitors, I started screaming at them: "Traitor, Traitor." Then, I said that as "progressives" they should realize that our foes are medieval and fascistic and that there is no justification for their position. No one challenged me. There were a few hundred of them, but they sort of just looked forlorn, confused and frightened. They were a sad group of people. Finally, a police officer told me I could meet people I agree with on 15th Street. And that's when I met you Guys. You are a robust and rousing crowd. I might not agree with you on some issues (My origins are actually from the Left), but I believe in defending America, the greatest nation on G-d's good earth, and we must all be adamant and uncompromising on this issue.
