I don't mind the INS treating me like a criminal just because I am visiting the USA. Well, all right, I do mind but haven't complained before. I mind terribly that the INS, which let in a lot of Arab terrorists, conferred citizenship on them, left their papers unchallenged, is acting like Hitler's brownshirts when dealing with this poor woman. Her husband is a bloody hero - I hope that the Freepers will share my sheer outrage and anger at this and that we can do something about this.

Regards, Ivan

But if we fail, then the whole world, including the United States, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science. Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that, if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, "This was their finest hour."

Today is Trinity Sunday. Centuries ago words were written to be a call and a spur to the faithful servants of Truth and Justice: "Arm yourselves, and be ye men of valour, and be in readiness for the conflict; for it is better for us to perish in battle than to look upon the outrage of our nation and our altar. As the Will of God is in Heaven, even so let it be." - Winston Churchill, 1940

This then, my lords and gentlemen, is the message which we send forth today to all states and nations, bound or free, to all the men in all the lands who care for freedom's cause. To our Allies and well-wishers in Europe, to our American friends and helpers drawing ever closer in their might across the ocean, this is the message-lift up your hearts, all will come right. Out of depths of sorrow and sacrifice will be born again the glory of mankind. - Winston Churchill, 1941

LET US GO FORWARD TOGETHER

This is beyond ridiculous, I guess you have to be an Arab terrorist in order to be treated decently by the INS. I'm beginning to think that entire organization is a criminal group.

The cold-hearted approach is what has floored me! I've just written to my congressmen Ivan. We'll do something about this.

I'm a 5th-generation American of British ancestry. The words of Sir Winston have always made me proud. Thanks for sharing them.

How does the Immigration dept know the fellow is dead? 4979 are still listed as missing, I think. At least, it has only been the last few days that death certificates have been available, and weren't they issued upon request, not necessarily simply issued en masse?

You're right, our INS is wack, insane. Harmless persons from friendly countries are threatened because of stupid law and bureaucrats' fumblings; little Elian is pronounced "illegal" by Reno-fiat and forcibly deported; all the while terrorists from hostile nations, on long-expired visas are not even tracked by the INS.

It's long past time we ended this farce of pretending to "treat everyone the same." It's like "gun control" -- these idiotic regulations end up harrassing innocent people and letting the criminal slip by. Bring back PROFILING as a bona fide tool to sort them out! George Bush, John Ashcroft, fix this NOW!

Mrs Gilbey had rung the immigration service to check on her status...

An object lesson to good folks who've had something go terribly wrong: don't look to government for help! Too bad we can't get the terror teams to check on THEIR status!

I received a reply already from the congressman's office via email. I will send this to the freeper that lives closer to Chatham. Hopefully, she can pass this info along! It was a standard letter, but included his number for help and a website for emergency help. I hope this will help! Take Care!

You got it, Ivan. Give me the marching orders. I'm a Californian, and I know, firsthand, how illegal immigration has affected this country, and I can also attest as to the wonderful heart that beats in many of our fellow human beings who came to America in order to have freedom.

This lady should be helped, definitely. I'm ready!

Just days after her husband's death she was sent an official notice warning her that her right to live in America was to be withdrawn

Something just isn't right here. There are still thousands of bodies undiscovered and thus not declared officially deceased. The statment above warrants further investigation before I jump to conclusions. There is more to this story than meets the eye.....

Furthermore, it takes more than just days to process death certificates let alone sending them to any agencies responsible for keeping track of aliens. Then, once received, I find it hard to believe that whatever action is alleged to have occured actually did. Govt. bureaucracy being what it is, any such action against this lady would not occur for months at the least.....

The IRS cannot locate most of the foreign student visas, but it will send this woman out of the country - this is just outrageous! Britain is putting the lives of its people on the line for us and this is how we repay them?? I certainly hope the police and fire units do as they have said to protect this woman. Someone should contact the President - what about Schundler taking a stand for her??

Oh my, I can't believe this is happening, so much for compassion.

Wouldn't it be great if the INS were that effective with all the illegal criminals in the country.

I've just seen on NJ local news that Mrs. Gilbey won't be deported, is this true? I don't have any other details, it was just something on the bottom of the screen.
