Let's all continue to discuss if Communist China has already - or will in the future, smuggle weapons, munitions, arms and short or medium-range missiles (or missile parts) into Panama??
This word bothers me...but doesn't bother you at all- right?
Big bump - to expose the Communist Chinese elite and their foreboding plans for the Panama Canal.
"Among the strategic facilities turned over to the Panamanian government was a deep underground intelligence facility. The facility is in Quarry Heights, where the U.S. Southern Command headquarters used to be located. In the middle of Ancon Hill, deep underground, was the Southern Command Intelligence Center. "From there we monitored and conducted intelligence operations for the Southern Hemisphere and Central America," a former intelligence official told me. "The place was top secret and built like a mini-Cheyenne Mountain" -the headquarters of the North American Aerospace Command in Colorado Springs that monitors worldwide missile launches and aircraft flights.
We just gave the whole facility to the Panamanians/Chinese," he said. Albrook Air Field, one of the facilities abandoned by the Pentagon, had been the base for regional surveillance operations for monitoring activities in Cuba and other parts of Central America. "There are many other military and intelligence facilities now gone," the former official lamented, including the Rodman Naval Air Station, which the Chinese had the option to lease, as well as military and intelligence facilities at Corozal, Corundu, Fort Clayton, Fort Sherman, and the Special Forces jungle training center. The former official said abandoning the military facilitites was a strategic mistake for the United States. "We will pay dearly for this as surely as the sun rises," he commented."
The China Threat

pg 91-92
If I'm reading you correctly, "might" means could be, and there is nothing to indicate that there are hidden weapons for later Chinese use. I'm not the least bit concern about that. Our problem here is the Colombian guerrilleros who keep crossing the boarder into Panama. And yes, from things I have read, there is all kinds of trafficking going up, down, and sideways through Central America because of this.
Now that you've finished at the podium, let me start off this thread with you -the same way I ended Thread 3 - Communist sympathier Jade, Yes or No, Confirm or Deny - - is it possible that China has already/is presently/or will in the future - bring weapons, munitions, arms and short-range missiles or medium-range missiles (or missile parts) into Panama?
First of all, your sarcasm is not appreciated.
Next, the U.S. would step in at that point.
Sorry..that's me.
Yes, I'd think that the U. S. would be upset if the Chinese attempted to stop our ships from traversing the canal. But, what I wonder - during wartimes, how long would it take us to - dispense with the Chinese down there ie. how long would it take before we finally could use the canal once the U. S. stepped in?
We left them an empty cave. Period.
We just gave the whole facility to the Panamanians/Chinese," he said. Albrook Air Field, one of the facilities abandoned by the Pentagon, had been the base for regional surveillance operations for monitoring activities in Cuba and other parts of Central America.
Wrong. We were using Howard Air Base on the west bank. Albrook air field had been shut down for a million years for aircrafts. It appears that housing in Howard and Fort Kobbe will be sold to private individuals.
Wrong. Rodman is being used by Panama and has been renamed. Corozal, Curundu, Fort Clayton, Fort Sherman are for local consumption. Fort Sherman and the Special Forces jungle training center were one in the same. I dont know where Gertz got his misinformation and so much of it.
Apologies accepted; and in turn, I must apologies to you. I tend to get a little cranky as it gets late. I too must rein myself in. Sorry friend. Let us continue.
Again my apologies.
I really dont know how long it would take to get the canal running again from some hostile group. It would depend if they damaged the canal and what kind of damage. Good grief. Say, if the miter gates were breached causing Gatun Lake to empty out into the ocean, how long would it take to refill Gatun Lake? I have no idea. Gatun is an artificial lake. Also, what would happen if we got into another guerrilla warfare with Colombian rebels and their friends. It could be another Vietnam.
