PITTSFIELD, Ill. (AP) - Authorities found a cache of bombs and more than 12,000 rounds of ammunition they believe belonged to a survivalist group. They arrested one man and were seeking another.
Also found inside five campers parked in a rural area of western Illinois were bomb-making instruction manuals, black powder, electronic arming devices and a small amount of ammonium nitrate.
Sheriff Paul Petty said investigators found maps with marks on certain areas. Petty would not say which areas were marked, but said investigators do not suspect the group, which calls itself the United Survivalists of America, had plans to attack or bomb anything.
``We believe the site was their compound, or gathering point. We think they were using this property as a command center.''
Petty said investigators believe the group was small and had been unsuccessful in getting others to join.
Petty said the man arrested in Pike County was charged with unlawful use of a weapon. He remained in jail Thursday after being ordered held on $50,000 bail, Petty said. He would not identify the suspect
``We don't want any of his associates to hear about this before we have the opportunity to locate them,'' he said.

Exactly...If the $hit ever does hit, some of the defense or response might have to come from our local militias.

Things are getting back to normal. The federal government is back on the trail of Americans again. God forbid another American should cut a shotgun a half inch too short.
In the meantime, thousands of unidentified Arab foreign nationals are plotting murder against innocent Americans and NOTHING is being done to revoke visas and deport any of them.

---any person with just a regular old normal garage with junk in it could be arrested and charged with possessing 'bomb making" materials. And I really dislike this arresting people (as this story leaves out ) for this unlawful use of a weapon then letting it ride there. What kind of "reporting" is that? I think they put the most rabid no-nothing anti gun reporters on these stories Thanks for the article, I rank the reporter for not providing more information. I have read speculation and some rumors that the government might use this foreigner attack and then try to link it to the domestic patriot movement, and I sincerely hope they don't go there like they have tried in the past several times. I remain suspicious of the globalist factions entrenched in government, they seem to never miss a trick when it comes to snagging away freedoms on the slightest pretext.

I sure agree with you. We've had horrible experience with home-grown terrorists (Oklahoma City) and don't need no stupid pukes like this bunch running around loose.

OKC was the same group as wtc.

investigators do not suspect the group, which calls itself the United Survivalists of America, had plans to attack or bomb anything. So what's the problem?

``We don't want any of his associates to hear about this before we have the opportunity to locate them,'' he said. Yeah, right...So they put in the newspapers with the nationally syndicated AP no less, with enough details about what was found where that anyone with any knowledge of it would know for sure that it had been confiscated. Therefore, I frankly question if there are any associates at all. Do the Feds plan to blow something up in the next few days?
I thought the Feds had allowed these Islamic terrorists to operate in order to get more of their draconian legislation through, but I'm going to have to take a closer look here. It sounds like they are trying to conjour up some homegrown "terrorists" to resume their gun confiscation plans.

From what I see about this case, I hope there are people like them living near me. I'm a poor shooter and could use some good protection.
