I saw the same program. Did you catch the woman who said she is not required to wear the scarf according to her religion, but that she wears it to "stand out." Also, she has a special room where she can go to pray at work (she is required to pray five times a day, she said, according to Islamic teachings.) I wondered what would happen if a Christian asked for a special room and time off to pray at work....

Maybe everybody should start asking and this might happen. I understand at times you don't want your religion to be what defines you, or you don't want to discuss religion at work, but that doesn't mean we should bury it. There are several rooms in one of the buildings where I work at that are 'private', i.e. employees only, no management, and people hold Bible studies and discussions a few times a week (they are also used by the Jewish, Islamic, and Buddhist workers among others). They were never meant to be used that way, more like break/stress relief rooms, but they just kinda turned out that way, and we are all happy and so management doesn't care. I guess I'm luckier than some.

Anyway, everybody should ask for a private room (I don't mean every single person mind you, but just private areas away from the busy areas and away from management).
