I have serious doubts about the veracity of this article. It claims that this action ended islamic violence for 50 years. However, if you go to the history books, you find out that the insurrection was by a group called the Moros, and the insurrection ended with the four-day battle of Bagsak Mountain on Jolo Island in the Philippines, which took place from 11 to 15 June 1913 - two years after this event supposedly took place.

The article contends that Pershing's method stopped terrorism, not necessarily the insurrection. The insurrection could have continued without the use of terrorist tactics.
