I have three words for ya'll..... Civil Air Patrol...... Auxillary of the USAF...... we do search and rescue and board patrol. The cadet program is for ages 13-21 (grandfathered in till 21 if a cadet joins prior to 18 birthday) and senior member program for adults..... you can also learn to fly, advance in leadership training and help your country at the same time.... -P.T.B.A.A.

Bump for a number of fine organizations.
They are all fine organizations, but the ones on the civilian side all seem to be totally response-oriented, coming in to give assistance after an attack. There's nothing resembling an armed militia out patrolling the streets on the list. No such organizations exist? Not legal? Not worthy of consideration?

Regarding your comments on an armed militia out patrolling the streets. This would take an action by the President or a state Governor in order for such to have the authority of the state and or Federal Government. Such would be the best deterent to both crime and terrorism but alas the gun grabboids would have an immediate case of hysteria.

I think the hysteria will shift to the other side after the next terrorist attack. At that point, I will be ready to join the armed militia. (In fact, I'm ready right now.)

(In fact, I'm ready right now.}While I not formally patrolling the streets when I go outside I have my cell phone and my .45 with me and an attitude that I will stop any crime or terrorist activity I have I encounter. I will use the phone first but I will if necessary and in gravest extreme use the .45 and I will not miss my target.

Good.

just as our DRIVERS LICENSES are good in all states (the binding precedent) so too, should our gun permits be recognized. And yet, we shouldn't need any permit whatsoever!. Do I need a state-issued permit to practice my religion? Do I need a permit to breathe?

Excellent point and well taken. I too am a proponent of the "VERMONT" system of concealed carry in that all one should need to carry a weapon for self defense is a pocket or a holster concealed and intentions to do no wrong. I'm afraid that it's just not practical in this world in which we currently live. ~sigh~

Things to do:
Lottery draft now! If our forces took WWII type casulties we'd be out of business in a day. Leaders should know this. (Of course they'd rather risk lives than offend a few whitecollar families that think their kids shouldn't have to serve.)
Stop student visas from middle eastern contries now! Stop all foriegn students that come to use stipends funded by the US tax payer. (Of course this would mean offending a few colleges in an effort to save lives. Liekly not to get done..)
I could go on ...Do leaders need more deaths to act?
