None of us has all the information on this subject, and looking at the whole thing in black and white terms is too simplistic. I'm just glad we have an ethical administration in place - one that I can trust to do what is right. I'd be shaking in my boots if this whole mess had happened under Clinton's watch. And don't expect Bush to fix the foreign policy debacles that Clinton had eight years to implement.

My opinion (OTOH) is that this is not the time for Israel to get into a p*ssing match with the US. Just a matter of perspective, I guess.

Agreed.

Israel will not dictate how America's war is fought, nor in which order terrorist enemies will be anniliated.

Despite poses being struck to the contrary, the whistle ain't pulling this train.

My opinion (OBH) is that it’s not a good time for either party to get in a pissing match with the other. At the same time, a Bush seems to be once again asking Israel to take a lot of lumps to help the US build a coalition that serves US interests, not Israeli interests. The Palestinians are run by far too many terrorists, and if Bush meant what he said about ridding the world of terrorists (or however he said it) he would not be sacrificing Israel’s interests to appease Palestinians and those who support their terrorism. I’m not always a huge fan of Israel, but there is far too much appeasement going on for my tastes.

Why don't you quit being a censor (on your second day yet) and allow a free-wheeling discussion of events. GWB would not approve of the stifling of thought like some Commie country would. Quit being a broken record. By the way, what was your former screen name. Just curious.

"issued a statement calling Israeli Prime Minister Sharon's remarks of yesterday "unacceptable."

I think supporting a new terrorist country of Palestine, becoming chummy with Iran and Syria and trying to distance yourself from the only country (Israel) that has the "balls" to aggressively fight terrorism, is unacceptable.

Powell and Bush better listen to Rumsfeld and the Pentagon and get their sh*t together.

And my opinion (OTOH) is that countries which share mutual goals (at least as far as the eradication of terrorism is concerned) shouldn't waste time on these type of matches. You're right about the matter of perspective. I guess I just prefer to keep my eye on the ball.

Any world leader who's ever dealt with Sharon ends up disliking him intensely.

These same world leaders suck up to Yasir Arafat. Consequently, I don't have much respect for them or their opinions of Jews.

America's interests first. Americans first. George Bush is acting for America first, not any other countries. He isn't advancing other nations' agendas. He is President of only one country: ours
And from your whining one would thing that Ariel Sharon is supposed to put America’s interests first too. He isn’t, he has to watch out for his people. If Bush is selling him down the river, he has to deal with that. Bush’s people shouldn’t whine about it. This is life in the big leagues, not everyone is going to give you everything you want, you have to make it worth their while, and so far Bush isn't giving Israel a thing so far as I can see in return for all the stuff they want Israel to promise the muslims.

And in any case, I hardly see how appeasing a bunch of muslim terrorists and their state supporters is in America’s interests. It may appear that way short term, but what we do now will have consequences in the real world for the next 100 years.

We have the tools and the power today to end Islamic power decisively. 50 years from now--even 10 years from now--that may not be the case... .

You're 100% right. I don't know why our leadership is playing it this way.

If Bush is selling him down the river,

Maybe Sharon is selling himself down the river?
