Today on the Dennis Prager show, his guest was Khaled Abou El Fadl an Acting Professor of Law at UCLA -- not a cleric, sorry. Dennis introduced him as one of the rare Moslems he knew who was objective and honest about his faith. I was very, very impressed with how outspoken he was and wondered if perhaps he might find himself in the crosshairs of the radical Islamists. I don't know if Dennis's shows are archived on his website, which I've had difficulty accessing for some reason, but I would highly recommend tracking down some of the columns he has recently had published in the newspaper -- L.A.Times, I believe.
Here is more info from his bio:
The Omar and Azmeralda Alfi Distinguished Fellow in Islamic Law Born Kuwait 1963, raised in Egypt and Kuwait B.A. Yale, 1986 J.D. University of Pennsylvania, 1989 Ph.D. Islamic Studies, Princeton, 1999 UCLA Law faculty since 1998
I heard part of that show, and it was interesting.
