THE FOLLY OF PACIFISM
MARK A SITY ^ | 10/4/01 | MARK A SITY

The folly of the pacifist mentality stems from two root causes; cowardice and ignorance of human nature. When a pacifist is confronted by a thug he is afraid that if he fights back he'll make the thug mad and he'll get beat up worse. He is to ignorant of human nature to understand that to not fight back only serves to encourage the thug. This gives the thug a green light to beat up the pacifist not only today, but tomorrow also. In addition, the desire not to make the thug mad is just plain silly; he is already mad in the sense that a rabid dog is mad. Terrorists are nothing more or less than a large gang of well financed and organized thugs with "grander" goals. Such "people" must be treated like the mad dogs they are. There is only one cure for their disease; death. If there is a pack of rabid animals loose in a neighborhood they must be hunted down and killed. Yes, there are dangers in doing so; but they pail in comparison to the dangers that neighborhood faces by allowing them to run free. Charles Bronson had a line that fits well here, "...if you don't kill them all, what is the point? The Bible even addressed this situation; ‘there is a time to heal and a time to kill.' Let the killing begin. MARK A SITY www.logic101.net

Don't forget an ignorance of human history as well. Most of those demonstators at those "peace marches" couldn't tell you who Neville Chamberlain was.

I concur: death is the only way to punish them. If in jail, like that blind weasel in the first attack on the WTC, they can continue to issue instructions and edicts, not to mention train new recruits in the prisons themselves.

Pacifism is a smokescreen for cowardice.

I learned this lesson as a wee lad. I was big into the don't fight, can't we all just get along, scene. I'd do practically anything to get people to like me, 'cause I had it figured that if they liked me, I wouldn't get punched out so much. I finally got mad enough to fight back. I had about five fights in two weeks, most of which I lost. But, once it became known that I would fight, I didn't have to anymore. With today's zero tolerance policies, I'd be expelled in a flash, but I'd have a lot more self-esteem.

I learned that lesson at about 12 years of age. I went to a school that had a gang of bullies that used to intimidate and beat other students. Of course these bullies always traveled in groups and attacked lone victims, being that bullies are really cowards.

One day 3 of them approach me and started pushing me around. Then just out of instinct I suppose, I hit the biggest one as hard as I could. For as long as I live, I'll never forget the surprised look on his face :). It was easy because it was the last thing this big guy expected.

They then proceeded to rough me up a little, although it was not with the confidence that they had in the past. But after that incident, they never bothered me again.

That's pretty much the same story with me. Amazing, how being willing to fight means you don't have to fight. One wonders just how much terrorism is the result of the belief that we're afraid, really afraid, to fight. I suspect we will have to prove that we are willing to shed blood to stop this.
