WOW, what a very Powerful Primetime tribute to Rick. It was just incredible!! This is the kind of guy that anyone would just be proud to say, "I knew him". I am soo sorry for his family & their loss. His lifetime accomplishments will certainly be remembered. Are you the guy that was hanging onto his 6 foot cord always/his radioman? If so, I am also very sorry for your loss as well. What a lifetime friend you must have lost. Remember...time will heal your wound/s. I too in the past year have lost 3 family members, & for someone to say that, is hard to swallow. You will never forget him & all the memories you had. Maybe, thats a "Good Thing"? My Deepest Sympathies to "Anyone who was a part of Rick's life." Again, I must say, that was a "Outstanding" Tribute. If you know his wife "Susan", tell her how much this show moved me, as I'm sure thousands of viewers. Janet

No, I never knew him. I read the book "We Were Soldiers Once, And Young" as a young officer and was in total awe. I dusted it off and reread it after I read the posted article in Army Times. He is an American Hero. As a nation, we are richer because he once walked among us.
