WASHINGTON, Oct 3 (Reuters) - The crash of a Greyhound bus in Tennessee on Wednesday appears to have been a "random" event unrelated to last month's terror attacks on the United States, the Transportation Department said.
The department believes "it was a random incident not related to the September 11 terrorist attacks," said Dave Longo, a spokesperson for the Federal Motorcarrier Administration, a division of the Transportation Department.
But he said there were conflicting reports "and we are waiting for more details to come in from the field."
Greyhound Lines suspended bus services across the United States after at least three people were killed in a crash that television reports attributed to a passenger attack on the bus driver.

Would good ol' boys in Jasper, Texas be profiled by some of these same folks criticizing the profiling of Muslims/Arabs? I'd bet my next paycheck on it.
You would be ,and are, precisely correct. It is done all the time in the liberal press and the snivel rights coalitions.

Croatian identity card?!
That makes sense. Get a blue-eyed fair-skinned Muslim from Bosnia or Croatia to wage terror -- a great way to get around profiling.
By the way, the FBI being involved speaks volumes.

The government was concerned about a September 22nd attack. Today is the equivalent of 'September 33rd.' But they probably would have gone for something bigger than this. Maybe they're just underestimating our response times for shutting things down?

I shoulda known better. No fault of yours. The word has been mis-used so often that probably 85% of Americans no longer no the correct spelling. Newspapers misspell it all the time. I was just correcting the record.
As far as liberals giving the terrorists "busses" - EEEEEWWWWWWWWWW! Yuck! Gag! Those hairy, slimy monsters? Certain liberals might, but I can assure you no self respecting Freeper female would give them a "buss"!

It is not in our interest or consistant with what America stands for, to target all Muslims.Caddie is a very small minority. In the past month, 'hate crimes' against Muslims have claimed zero victims . . . as opposed to Muslim hate crimes of 7000 dead on September 11 and six dead today.
America is doing quite well on the matter of not attacking Muslims. Now Muslims must do their part, and stop attacking us.

Amen, the lectures being given to the non-killers are getting stale, they need to start telling the Muslims to quit killing and hating.

Bull Sh*t.

128 posts in this thread already and nobody yet has quoted Anne Coulter as urging Dumbya to bomb Croatia, kill its leaders, and convert all the Croats to Baptists!

So I guess the guy randomly picked up a blade and randomly started to wave it around and accidently hit the throat of the driver.
All the oncoming cars were randomly driving down the right side of the road.
Who ever wrote and released this item to the press probably randomly has a cogent thought.

Or maybe this was a diversion so that something more sinister could be done ...I think I heard that this bus had stopped in Atlanta...
Wouldn't it be terrible if this was a diversion to get the first string law enforcement people away from Atlanta to check the crash scene while some accomplices of this lone throat slasher planted a suitcase nuke somewhere under CNN? How would we know what's happening in the world if we didn't have CNN?!

Yep. My "busses" usually stop about a half hour before the big argument... (So I usually know what time it is.) ;-)

How about armed guards on all buses? They are very vulnerable to being hijacked, blown up, wrecked, used as bombs, and attacks by knife weilding maniacs. A well coordinated attack,(example: 20 hijacked simultaneously), would be a piece of cake. I am worried the hijackers may have been awakened (by this latest attack) to how easy this would be, and this incident could have gave them another idea. Although, yea, they probably already thought of this.
How about our school buses? This is my main concern.

response to post# 107 & others discussing the reaction/over-reaction of Greyhound.
If this was not an over-reaction, then why did they permit all buses en route to continue to destination? Why not demand they all pull off at the first town large enough to have a stop light till further notice?

LOL. He was told 1613, translated it to normal time, then couldn't tell what time it was on his analog watch, which only goes up to 1200, then starts over. :-Þ

Just for the record, most Americans no longer KNOW the correct spelling... Since we are being picky about spelling...

Oh, no must just be a random lunatic. There's no connection between the KLA and bin Laden. /sarcasm

Hey..., you can't get everyone "on board" in any "organization". There are some stragglers around. (sigh) "It's SO hard to get good help these days!"

>The hijacker threatened to kill the remaining hostages if the police tried to intervene.
Note to terrorsts: as of Sept 11, that is no longer such as good strategy.
