Another sterling example of academia. Especially touching that she's adopting a child.

sheesh

"If I think about the flag,

IF? Hmmmmm, seems like someone ought to be flying a lot of flags around Ms. Traschen, so she can be sure to "think" about it. Our flag is a very important thing.

I have to think about it from the point of view of those people."

Why would she have to think about it from the point of view of people from other countries? Why? The flag is being flown in a small town in the People's Republic of MA, not in the middle of another country. Do people in other countries think how US citizens feel about their flag when their flag is flown? That's just plain dumb.

Though fearful about future turmoil for the three-year-old child that she and her husband are in the final stages of adopting...

I'm pretty fearful about the future for the three-year-old child she and her husband are adopting. With parents like that, s/he's bound to be pretty warped.

"It was a good thing to do," Ms. Traschen says

That proves it. Some people never learn.

"People are going to have a much harder time speaking their minds in this community," she says.

The smart ones will realize saying stupid things sometimes has rather drastic consequences. Obviously Ms. Traschen isn't one of them.

Every once in a while something comes along that reminds me hubris exists.

This pathetic creature must be having flag indigestion just about now.

Is this person really a physicist?
I find that hard to believe.

There is a world of difference between "speaking your mind" and controlling others through intimidation via city ordinances or other laws these lefties continually promote.

Not that the events of Sept. 11 have altered her opinions. "To many, many ordinary people in countries around the globe, the U.S. has done terrifying things,"

So, what's stopping her from leaving this "terrible" country for another one with a better record.

Ahhhhhhhhhh. Poor lady - She feels bad cause other people don't like her thoughts and hatred for the rest of US.

Okay - Done with the sympathy.

Now, which country does she want to go to?

Why? Does she think the Chinese sit there and contemplate what their flag symbolizes to us? Or to the people of Tibet? What a maroon.

This "rhymes with rich" probably doesn't even understand why people are mad at her. It must be because they're so mean-spirited. :)

I'm not sure that she should be allowed to adopt. Her child is very likely to gfrow up to be an America-hating punk. Do we need more of those?

"If I think about the flag, I have to think about it from the point of view of those people."

Excuse me? "those people" - just who does she support - her country or the rest of the world? And ... this is another example of the trash we have allowed to teach our children!
