The ENEMY within: David Hackworth takes aim at Maher, Madonna, Fonda, Donahue

The enemy within

© 2001 WorldNetDaily.com

When Jane Fonda visited North Vietnamese army troops while our GIs were being killed by those she was comforting, we tagged her "Hanoi Jane."

Now she and other Vietnam-era war protesters are back at their divisive, feckless game. They and their latest recruits apparently can't compute that our country has just been assaulted by madmen as bad as Hitler's worst.

Self-appointed geo-strategist Fonda, commenting about the attack that killed more than 6,000 civilians in New York City alone, has already concluded, "It would be a mistake for America to retaliate militarily."

Fonda, a born-again loose cannon concerned about "the saber rattling and calls for vengeance,'' is urging people to "try to understand the underlying cause of the crime.''

Right – and while we're turning the other cheek, terrorists will be taking out the Statue of Liberty.

Where do we get such wrongheaded, solipsistic Looney Tunes?

Want more?

Self-anointed Saint Madonna – not exactly known for her vows of poverty, chastity or acts of humility – is praying for peace while paraphrasing her apparent role model, Mother Teresa. "Violence," she says, "begets violence."

Try that one from the Material Girl out on the families whose loved ones didn't come home from work on Sept. 11. Or the orphans who want their moms and dads to hold them and tell them it's all been a bad dream.

Phil Donahue remained true to his hippy roots when he argued on television that "the memory" of those killed in the attacks wouldn't "be honored by going out and killing other civilians."

Bill Maher put the icing on the appeasement cake for all his pacifist pals when he announced: "We have been cowards. Lobbing cruise missiles from 2,000 miles away, that's cowardly. Staying on the airplane when it hits the building, say what [you] want about it, [is] not cowardly."

Mr. Maher, check out how that message went down with the rescue crews digging through smoking ruins with their bare hands, searching for survivors, while you were pontificating on prime time. Ask the widows of the firemen and policemen who paid the ultimate price about who's cowardly and who's brave.

Besides big mouths, what these celebrities have in common is that they all live in secure palaces where even their servants have access to gas masks. They're about as connected to the American people and the enormity of this tragedy as the terrorists themselves.

My wife, the former flower child, supposes that they might be so into denial they can't accept the hard truths that on Sept. 11, American civilians suffered almost three times the deaths inflicted upon our soldiers and sailors at Pearl Harbor, and that our very survival is at stake.

Whatever their hang-ups, one would think that even these high-profile yo-yos would get their acts together enough to support protecting their fellow Americans from clear and present danger. But the clueless celebs keep compulsively stirring the peace protest pot – even though their calls for pacification amount to providing aid to an implacable enemy whose publicly avowed purpose is to destroy our land of the free.

For sure, lots of rats are rolling in the aisles in Kabul and Baghdad while watching these clowns rant and rave on the tube. And the word from many who fought to preserve the Constitution, which gives these wonders the right to make fools of themselves, is that their treachery is over-the-top. That now, more than ever, we need to be a country united – not torn apart as we were over Vietnam, when protests aimed at the troops caused far more deaths by destroying our soldiers' will to fight.

Our privileged betrayers should ask what the world would be like had the USA not stood tall in the 20th century. Then, if they like the answer, they can go visit the Taliban – as Fonda did the NVA.

David Horowitz, a Vietnam-era peacenik, said, "If I have one regret from my radical years, it is that this country was too tolerant towards the treason of its enemies from within."

We can and should dissent when it's appropriate – but our first priority must be to secure Fort America from future strikes. Until then, we need to rally round the flag and practice unity, not division.

And, as we used to say in Vietnam: "Stay alert, stay alive."

If I'm ever in the bush under fire and Wallace and Jennings get anywhere within striking distance, they go right to the top of the "frag" list.

How D@@%&^* many innocent civilians carry AK-47's and chant "Death to America"? Is there no end to this crap? I'm as much for peace as anyone, but I will be damned if I'll stand by twidling my thumbs and singing happy little songs while these bast**#s are constantly trying to come up with even more sinister ways to destroy OUR innocent civilians. Do you people not get it? Chemical or biological warfare does not care who is in the upwind. Do you have family? Mother, son, daughter, etc. You wouldn't want that for them, I'm sure. Yes, war IS Hell,Dr.,and I do not look forward to war at any time. But they brought this to us.These people are beyond reason, and to assure domestic safety, I am afraid they must be killed. I pray for no futher casualties of innocents, but, dammit, the terrorists must be destroyed. The future of the planet is at stake. An enemy soldier firing a rifle at me, I can understand and handle. I am more than willing to give my life for God and country, hell,I've got to croak sooner or later. But some toxic chemical a few hundred miles away that will ride the winds to God knows where? No. Lets take them out before that happens, because if it does, there may be no option but to let their ashes glow in the dark, and that could lead to the destruction of half the planet.I hope we can solve this problem as soon as possible, and then work on the root causes of all this hatred, which has imperiled us all.

I suggested you read the document. That hardly qualifies as a lecture. If you prefer an empire to the constitutional republic established by the US Constitution, that's your choice.

Insisting that our government obey the supreme law of the land isn't arguing formalities and semantics. It is obeying the duty of citizenship in the interest of the survival of our form of government. That is a duty that politicians desperately want us to shirk.

Past wrongs by government do not establish an unbreakable precedent. Failure to correct those wrongs will result in the end of the USA. I don't intend to help the traitors in government accomplish that end.

It might be time for you to turn off the TV. It's having a very bad effect on your thinking.

.. I would rather live with some idiots among us than conform to blind patriotism.

Maybe so, but that doesn't mean we can't critisize them, or point out what morons they are!

They have a right to say what they want as long as I have a right to either ignore or rebut them. My choice.

After reading what our communist sympathizer Black Jade just posted, perhaps Hackworth should add our FR sympathizer jade to the list:

Black Jade:
"If you are going to annul every Panama Canal contract or any commercial agreement in the world,
which was obtained through bribery, that would wipe out many contracts made by US firms, as well."

Yes Communist sympathizer/apologist Black Jade, you may explain to all of us now.

"...obtained through bribery, that would wipe out many contracts made by US firms, as well."

Communist sympathizer jade, you're always asking for proof, I now ask you for proof of your allegation that many United States companies use bribery to get contracts. Waiting jade, don't dally - come explain your statement to all of us.

We have become the reluctant inheritors of the status of an empire, not through conquest, but necessity. It's just that you don't realize it. The rights, liberties, and freedoms law abiding, legal US citizens enjoy are not threatened by the scrutiny or comdemnation of suspect and anti-American behavior, activities, and associations of persons either embracing or outright supporting terrorist aims and ideology. Furthermore, Hackworth's and my objection to this is the diatribe and immediate defense by individuals and groups that couch violent, anti-American, reactionary screed, especially in a time of war, in terms of protected speech that is more often than not paid for by the taxpayer at state supported institutions of "higher learning" protected and made possible by the sacrifices of the very people these ungrateful sons of bitches mock, ridicule, smear, and denounce. Free speech ain't free when somebody else has to foot the bill. As for TV viewing, I wholeheartedly support it, as I do the patronage of other forms of advanced technology modern civilization has devised. Like the computer and the internet. Engage in pedagogical pedantry and bookish snobbery, and let the real men do the real work of maintaining public safety, guaranteeing individual freedom, and winning wars, boy.

Great logic Mrs Fonda - but what happens if more buildings go down over the coming months. (or oil refineries, or whatever)

In the Donahue-O'Reilly debate, Donahue came across as a Girly-Man. Donahue actually believes negotiations with peole like bin Laden, Hitler, and Stalin are possible. Donahue and his ilk should personally go to Afganistan and seek out bin Laden.

That's cute, son. You go off on a long rant justifying the position fed to you by amoral politicians through your TV, then try to assume the mantle of the the mature, responsible adult.

Sorry, I'm not impressed. I'm also far from convinced that you'll ever do anything more than watch Newt Gingrich on Foxnews. The grownups are indeed going to have to shoulder the burden, and it's too bad you're not with us on this.

Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel. False patriotism is always the justification for sedition laws, and the falsehood in the argument of necessity for those laws is always revealed after the crisis has passed. That's why there are no current sedition statutes.

Odd that you thought there were. There is no United States of America without the US Constitution. That's why oaths of office are to the Constitution, and not to a current roster of government or to the ephemeral will of the people. The oath of office is most certainly not to any empire.

No, Col Hackworth is not always right. For example, just last week, he called Rep Bernie Sanders of Vermont a communist. Bernie, rightfully so, got all bent out of shape. Bernie is a socialist. See his website for confirmation.

Jane Fonda, for one, is a bonafide TRAITOR.

She should ahve been shot twenty-two years ago and saved us all a lot of trouble.

Maybe Ted Truner could have married some right-wing cookie instead of this leftist bimbo-whore.
