Even by her usual incendiary standards, Ann Coulter's response to the terrorist attacks was something of a jaw-dropper.
"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity," the conservative commentator declared in her column on National Review Online.
Those words created an uproar at the Web site, which refused to run a follow-up piece in which Coulter singled out what she called "swarthy males." She promptly began bad-mouthing National Review, which responded by axing her as a contributing editor.

I have no problem with missionary work, but its going to take a lot more than just showing up and proclaiming our faith to get that ball rolling...even if we did go in and "kill all their leaders." *g*
However, our enemies view this as a holy war while we sit around debating the least offensive way to name it. These people are determined to destroy our country and they wont stop until every one of us or them is dead. And every single one of them is Muslim. Thats not racist, or even sectarian, but FACT.
Muslim extremism is a terminal cancer that the patient is comfortable with. How many Muslim clerics have you heard issue a fatwah against these murderers? How many moderate countries will not stand against this evil? Is their inaction motivated by cowardice or complicity? The latter is more often the case then we would like to admit.
Hear, hear. For further proof of FR hypocrisy, check out the thousands of posts calling for Bill Maher's head. By the way, one of the guests on a recent PI -- the show with Ann Coulter on it -- had this to say about Maher's and Coulter's 'problems':
"Never attempt subtlety in an undeveloped nation. And I'm afraid, based on what I've seen happen to Bill and Ann, America is becoming an undeveloped nation."
It cuts both ways, FReepers.
EITHER YOU ARE WITH US OR AGAINST US...........WE ALL HANG AS ONE.........
What suprises me about this thread is the number of people who have raised Ann Coulter to the status of a demi-god. She has many insightful comments but I would hardly classify her as the leader of the conservative movement. She makes poor decisions just like any other conservative--let's not hold her out to be perfect. I respect the fact that Ann was probably lashing out following the death of her friend Barbara Olson but other NR contributors knew Barbara as well and did not write similiar articles.
To those who keep reminding me and others that we are at war-- Do you think that you are in on some secret that the rest of us don't know about? Some things do change in wartime, agreed, but that doesn't mean that we abandon all our principles of fairness and reason (that is why the U.S. is morally superior to our enemies) to accomplish military objectives.
The "firing" of Coulter has been labelled a PC move by NR, yet she was the one who ran to television claiming to be a victim of censorship. That strikes me as a Liberal, PC tactic.

Take a breath Annie!
THANKS
What Bible are YOU reading?
Or do you think God was lying when He talks about the end times?
Or maybe you don't think that the Bible is the unerring Word of God.
And if that is the case, you are not a "Christian", despite what you may call yourself.
Agreed. I watched her appearances during the election "recount," and while she was feisty, her arguments were often irrational. Pitted against intelligent, well-spoken liberals, she was often on the losing end of the debate.
We're sitting on a powder keg now with the potential of igniting the entire world; we need professional firemen, not someone who insists on playing with matches.
I agree with you on Bill Kristol, but he is editor of the Weekly Standard, and doesn't work for National Review.
