Bloody diarrhea is indeed a symptom to be alarmed about, especially in the young or very old- fluid loss & loss of blood volume.

No fooling. Especially when I read about what can happen with intestinal anthrax via the New England Journal of Medicine and other places. Seems this type isn't even on the radar screen here because they think it can only be transmitted by eating food. I think in my case I got the spores through my nose, but swallowed them down into my stomach right away.

Your theory makes sense- when I ran the sewage plant, the rule was "keep your hands below your collar" to avoid spreading any pathogens to eyes, nose, or mouth.
