We should freeze the assests of family members. If we checked out the families of the terrorists, you would find that they all suddenly became a few million dollars richer. If we can make the family members poor again, part of the appeal for the suicide terrorists is taken away.

If the bounty is on bin Laden alone and not his entire organization, it is a waste of money.

Eliminate bin Laden and the network continues to exist.

I don't think one of our own people would/will be the one getting this -- this is probably meant to provoke an "inside job."

Those in the know would prefer 7 vigins for enternity, I understand.

What's funny is that the true translation is vegans - not virgins.

Each Muslim gets seven vegans for eternity.

It would be terrible if he is captured and returned to the U.S. He would become a martyr. He should be killed in battle along with his army so he is not martyred. Won't work anyway. Remember the $1 mil bounty on the head of Salmon Rushdi (sp)? He's still alive and kicking. OBL is deep down in that inpenetrable mountain city. No way to get him out. Not even a nuke. We might have to wait at the door of his subterrainian hole until his food runs out. Seems there just isn't any easy way to get at him.

imagine how many COUNTRIES would like to earn a billion-dollar bounty

Pakistan for one. They could just nuke him and probably still come out several hundred millon dollars ahead.

If it is, then it is probably a billion dollars in stock options that will be worth about $1,000 when you can excercise them.

Hey, serves those toga wearers right!

Thanks Mr. K.

This is a really dumb idea. Who will turn him in and would we really want them to have $1 Billion?

I don't think so.

I say we take the 1 Billion and use to to build a few neutron weapons and use them over there.

Osama might just be worth more dead than alive. Espically when he can start naming names. We won't know the truth for years but links and money trails will lead to Corporations, Individuals, and world leaders.

Put together an army of 1,000, and that is still $1,000,000 each!

I was thinking along the same lines. I figured 500 ex SAS, SEALS etc paid a cool mill per head. That leaves half a billion for equipment/support/logistics. You could offer the official US reward ($20m?)as possible compensation to families of team members killed (assuming you got bin Laden).

Two questions:

1. Is there a transcript?
2. Is this thing LEGAL? I mean, I'd hate for these very patriotic businessmen to be int rouble with the FBI. I mean, I know there's no jury outside Berkeley that would convict, but the legal expenses will be horrendous...

Might get some action.

Average per capita income in Afghanistan is $200 per YEAR(!!).

Lets see, $1 billion /$200= Doubles annual income for 10 million (TEN MILLION) Afghanis!

"I say we take the 1 Billion and use to to build a few neutron weapons and use them over there.

As an advocate of low-tech weaponry, and a lover of irony, I suggest we take the $1B and outsource all Patriotic crop-dusters to fill their spray tanks with pig-urine and blanket the country in a yellow, porcine fog...

Don't worry; it's being run by the same outfit that ran the McDonald's contest.
