Early in his Presidency Bush modestly asked that playing of "Hail to the Chief" be limited to only a few occasions. It was played when he addressed airline employees in Chicago, and it sounded just right. It should be played often at his appearances. It fits, and its symbolic value is powerful.

Who knew Fred Barnes could be so eloquent.

I am proud of George W. Bush. He strikes me as a man not looking for glory. I believe he truly cares and really just wants to do his job which happens to be President of the United States. And isn't it nice to be able to be proud of your President?

That view may be hard for non-Christiansand even some Christiansto swallowAs a Christian, I find it hard to believe that any Christian who believes in the Sovereignty of God, does not see God's hand in the election of George W. Bush, and in his calm, strong leadership during this crisis.
He has, as was Esther of old, come to his position of leadership "for such a time as this."
Thanks for the ping, MJY!

This is a keeper, Fred Barnes has written a wonderful insightful piece into the character of George W Bush that is comforting to me during this time of uncertainty.
My only disapointment is, I loved the line, "wanted, dead or alive" and am sorry he won't be repeating it! Seemed appropriate to me, since they call us "cowboys".
