Top ten reasons that the Taliban are liberals

#4. The Taliban/liberal believes that government should control all education.

#5. The Taliban/liberal uses civil and criminal law to force state religion (Islam, humanism) down the throats of its citizens and their children.

#6. The Taliban/liberal fears the change and chaos of technology and the internet.

#7. The Taliban/liberal seek an oppressive monolithic culture enforced by criminal law.

#9. The Taliban/liberal policies always result in an impoverished, starving population.

Actualy,after reading up a litle on Afghanistan,the people always toppled former governments because they didn't want change.They want to live by simple not extreme(taliban) islamic law.Over 90% of afghans can not read or write and conduct life much like our native americans did.The leaders of the taliban are not much differant than some of the extreme right wing bible thumpers we have here in America.You know the ones I mean,the ones that preach about being whole and then get caught with prostitutes or little alter boys.

Got to dispute some of this. First, with regards to #2, the Taliban blames Israel for the WTC bombings, at least officially (although bin Laden has gone on record saying that it was probably Florida jews angered at the outcome of the election; I suppose they believe some retired insurance from West Palm Beach is the REAL ringleader.)

With regards to #3, the Taliban gives everyone a machine gun (except women) and orders them to kill Americans, Jews, each other, the Northern Alliance, women without veils, men without beards, and even some monkeys in the zoo (see related post.)

With regards to #6, liberals do not fear the internet, as Al Gore invented it. The DNC continued its fundraising from its web site after the Sept. 11 attacks, although the GOP shut down fundraising and instead asked Americans to give to the Red Cross.

The rest are basically true, although I'm sure the Taliban leadership does not seriously believe in #10, that their policies will creat a utopia. They do, however, believe it will keep them in power, which is all they're concerned about. And they manage to convince their fanatical followers that they'll have paradis--70 virgins and all that--in the other world, if only they'll kill Americans, so I guess they're perpetuating that myth.
