Got it down to two either a Glock 17 or Beretta 92, I am leaning towards the Beretta, comments and advice welcomed.

I just bought myself a new Glock 27 yesterday. I had absolutely no intention of acquiring another weapon just yet, but I accompanied my boyfriend to the gun shop, because he had bought a new shotgun and needed to have it transferred from the dealer across the state to the local dealer.

They had exactly one Glock 27 (40 cal.) available, and it's exactly what I've been wanting. I made the mistake of asking to look at it, and as soon as I had my hands on it I knew I couldn't walk out of the store without it.

Here in Florida, if you have CCW there's no waiting period. So I came home with my shiny new Glock in hand. Today we went out to where we have our range set up and blasted away like Cuban revolutionaries. It was great!!!!!

P.S. My previous carry gun was a Beretta .32 Tomcat. The frame has cracked in 3 places and it is even now on its way to Beretta, where hopefully they will just replace the thing.

Must have been a great week for the dealers, indeed. I had only one thing left on my wish list, and picked it up a few days ago, and spent a happy day at the range.

A nice cuddly Colt Combat Commander MKIV in Stainless. Now I gotta buy 45ACP dies, a new turret, and a thousand primers.

Sure is a good looking gun, what is the advantage of .40 cal? I researched 9mm and 45 cal. thought the learning curve would be shorter on the 9mm.

When you hold each gun (Beretta / Glock) the Beretta is a thing of beauty, it fits the human hand so well (I could probably sell things) the Glock is less appealing in both feel and looks IMHO. I am moving to Florida sometime next year, the paperwork necessary for New Jersey just to purchase, would have obtained a carry permit in Florida. Thanks.

Your story about the glock 27 is making my eyes spark with some lusty fire. I heard about Berreta 92s cracking frames too. I dunno, Berretas are a great quality to price ratio, but if you live in cold weather or very hot weather, shooting with the plastic frame of the glock goes a long way to protecting your fingers from frost bite or alternatively profuse sweating. I believe Berretas have a mostly metal frame. Metal frames however have a weight that makes shooting more comfortable.
